Arin had a single thought as he stared at the system screen. 'I think I might have just gotten something OP.'
[This spell causes mana to become unstable, making it extremely difficult—if not impossible—for others to cast spells. Attempts to channel mana or cast spells could result in spells misfiring, fizzling out, or even backfiring on the caster.]
He didn't need further explanation from the system to understand what this spell was.
"Chaos Element, huh?" Arin muttered as a smirk formed on his face.
He knew there were other details about this spell and the Chaos Element in general. 'I have to understand more about this Chaos Element.'
Suddenly, the system screen appeared again, showing more details about the Arcane Chaos spell, prompting Arin to focus on it.
[Arcane Chaos is an area-of-effect spell.]
[The spell affects a wide radius around you, creating a zone of Chaotic Energy where all magical energies become unpredictable and unstable. The longer the spell is maintained, the more erratic the mana becomes.]
Arin placed his finger on his chin, squinting as he stared at the system screen.
'So, basically,' he thought, 'I can use Arcane Chaos in the middle of a battle to turn the tide by preventing enemy spellcasters from using their magic effectively.'
This was just one example of how he could use this spell. Of course, there were other ways he could implement it, and he already knew some of them. That was why there was currently a smirk on his face.
'And this is just the first spell of the Chaos Element. What would other Chaos Element spells be capable of?' Arin couldn't help but wonder.
If this was the first Chaos Element spell, the others would certainly be strong….. even stronger and more dangerous than Arcane Chaos.
'But a spell like this would certainly consume a lot of mana,' Arin thought. 'For it to be this powerful, the mana consumption must be high.'
'If I practice using it efficiently, I'll be able to control the mana consumption,' Arin concluded.
He couldn't deny his excitement about this spell, and he couldn't wait to test it out.
He hadn't expected to get another element, apart from the ones he had already "planned for."
But there was still something he was curious about, and he couldn't shake the thought.
'Hidden Element… I'm not familiar with that,' Arin mused. 'And from the looks of it, there are more Hidden Elements besides Chaos.'
This was new to Arin, and he couldn't help but be curious.
'Unexpected things will definitely happen,' he thought. 'There are still some things in this world that I don't know about.'
That was even more reason why he needed to get stronger quickly—to accomplish his goals and be ready for the unexpected challenges that would undoubtedly arise.
"Arin Vale… Arin Vale…"
"Arin Vale!"
Arin instantly looked up as he heard his name, noticing that all the students were staring at him.
'Hmm, seems I was lost in my thoughts for a moment,' Arin thought.
Dan squinted his eyes at Arin before speaking. "Arin Vale, it's your turn."
Arin nodded and walked forward toward the open space. He instantly gripped his sword, ready to perform the stance.
Yes, he hadn't been listening while Dan was talking, but that didn't mean he couldn't perform the stance.
Swiftly, Arin crouched and quickly moved his right leg backward while bending his left knee forward at the same time.
And then…
*WHOOSH*
He slashed his sword at the air in front of him, causing a gust of wind.
A slight smile appeared on Dan's face as Arin finished executing the stance perfectly. 'It seems Riya was right. The students this year will be far more interesting than last year's.'
Arin walked back to join the crowd of students while the next student stepped forward to perform the stance.
It continued until it was Tessa's turn. She walked toward the open space, her wooden sword gripped tightly in her hand.
*WHOOSH*
"Huh?"
"Did you see that?"
"Yes, so fast…"
"Hmm, not as fast as Teacher Dan, though."
The murmurs were due to how quickly Tessa performed the stance. So far, among all the students, she had executed the stance the fastest.
Well, since she was done, it was time for the last student to perform the stance… Alex.
Alex walked toward the open space with a smile on his face as the students stared at him in awe.
At this point, he was a celebrity everyone wanted to be friends with.
"Do you think he'll do it faster than Tessa?"
"Huh? Are you seriously asking me that? Of course, he'll do it faster."
Everyone watched as Alex gripped his sword, and then…
*WHOOSH*
He instantly executed the stance with immense speed, but something was off.
"Uh… I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but I'm pretty sure Tessa did it faster."
"Hmm, yes, I saw it too. Or maybe he's tired?"
Now, the murmurs were about Tessa and Alex, debating who had executed the stance faster.
That aside, class was over, so they could all leave.
"Remember, you all have to come with your gear," Dan said. "That's all. You can leave."
With that, they all left the class, including Dan.
Making his way past the crowd of students, Arin arrived at the entrance of the building and started walking toward the dorms.
On his way, he dipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a card. His name and picture were on it, and on the right side, there was a small bar that read "50."
Before he could think about anything else, he suddenly heard footsteps rushing toward him from behind.
"Oh shit, she caught me…"
