Chapter 9 - Things Just Got More Interesting

Now, he had successfully made Tessa, the female lead, his paw.

"Good. Just lay low for now. I'll tell you what to do when the time is right," Arin said as he moved his head back.

Tessa nodded her head in response, but then, she suddenly had a thought, and she squinted her eyes before asking. "How are we going to meet again?"

"That's not a problem. I know where to meet you," Arin said.

'He's probably talking about the forest,' she thought, after all, that was where he first met her.

"That's all for now, I'll see you," Arin said, and without waiting for her to say anything, he instantly jumped down from the rooftop.

His hair and cloak fluttered due to the wind as he spread out his arms.

Finally, with a small thud, he landed on the ground, and his body disappeared into the darkness.

Meanwhile, Tessa just stood still as she stared at Arin's disappearing figure.

"I made the right choice, right?" She questioned herself as she clenched her fists. "Yes.....Yes, I made the right choice."

The memory of Alex killing her parents suddenly resurfaced in her mind again, making her grit her teeth.

"I'll make sure you pay..." She muttered, her voice chilly.

Immediately, she jumped down, her hair and cloak fluttering as the wind brushed past her face.

*WHOOSH*

She instantly landed without a single sound. After that, she dashed towards the female dorm building, her steps inaudible. After all, she could use Sound Magic, so it wasn't surprising that her steps couldn't be heard.

She could only hope that this alliance that she just formed would make her new mission possible.

"What Chaos said is true.... I'm not strong enough to kill Alex, that's why joining him was for the best."

As for her new mission, it was to kill Alex, and she would stop at nothing until it was accomplished.

Immediately Arin reached his room, he entered inside, and locked the door.

After removing the cloak and the mask, he sat down on the bed, remembering the discussion he just had with Tessa.

"She's now on my side.... That's good," Arin muttered, a grin appearing on his face. "It's better to shape her character now to become what I want it to be."

He placed the mask and the cloak back in his inventory as he lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Classes will begin tomorrow," Arin muttered. "I should probably get some sleep."

Though, he still couldn't help but grin as he remembered his successful plan. Events from now on would surely be interesting.

*WHOOSH*

Arin's eyes snapped open as he stared at the ceiling, his hands on his chest.

After some seconds, his eyes darted to the window, and he noticed that it was already bright outside, meaning that it was already morning.

"Classes begin today," he muttered as he got up from the bed and went into the toilet to freshen up.

After some time, he came out from the toilet and wore his uniform, fully prepared to head out.

His cloak and his mask were already in his inventory, so there was no need to hold them.

After exiting the room, Arin shut the door, before walking towards the stairs.

Seconds later, after descending the stairs, he was once again greeted by the warm light of the sun and the vibrant sounds of the Academy grounds. The morning air was crisp, carrying the mingled scents of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass.

He closed his eyes for a second, taking in a deep breath, before looking around.

The Academy grounds were already teeming with life. Students of all years and backgrounds filled the space, their uniforms adding a sense of uniformity to the otherwise chaotic scene. Some were excitedly chatting with friends, their voices blending into a cheerful hum, while others seemed more withdrawn, likely contemplating the day ahead.

Arin began his walk towards the main Academy building, where the entrance ceremony had taken place. He noticed groups of students gathering in small clusters, some exchanging notes, others practicing spells or discussing the latest magical theories. The energy was palpable, a mix of anticipation and nervousness.

As he neared the building, he saw a steady stream of students heading in the same direction. The main entrance was a grand archway, flanked by statues of legendary mages. It was a reminder of the Academy's long history and the great expectations placed upon its students.

Arin entered the building and immediately noticed the large, ornate staircase that dominated the foyer. It spiraled upwards, leading to the various floors where classrooms and lecture halls were located. The staircase was already crowded, with students moving up and down, their footsteps echoing off the marble steps.

He began his ascent, weaving through the throng of students. Some were eagerly discussing their first classes, while others appeared lost in their own thoughts.

Finally, he reached the hallway on the third floor. It was a long corridor lined with doors, each leading to a different classroom. The hallway was bustling with activity, students moving in and out of rooms, exchanging greetings and finalizing their preparations for the day.

"It's right there...." Arin muttered as he stared at the third room in the hallway.

He instantly walked towards it and noticed a small card above the door that read "Class 3A."

Well, this was Arin's classroom, but what made it more interesting was the fact that this was also Alex and Tessa's classroom.

'Haha, things just got more interesting,' Arin laughed in his mind as he entered the classroom, ready to see what his new classmates were like.

Also..... Today was the day they would confirm their Elemental Affinity.
