"I know about the death of your parents," Arin said, as a smile bloomed on his face behind the mask.
Tessa's eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about?" she snapped as she unsheathed her sword, and took a defensive stance. "How do you know about that?"
Arin's tone remained calm, almost taunting. "I have my ways. But I'm not here to tell you everything just yet. I'll reveal more if you meet me tonight."
He didn't want to waste too much time yet, because few minutes later, another person would arrive here.
Tessa's expression hardened. "I'm not interested in games. If you have something to say, say it now."
The look on her face made it clear that she was trying to remain calm, after all, her parents were the topic here.
"Unfortunately, I won't be able to do that now."
"Huh? What do you mean? Are you toying with me?" Tessa asked, with anger clearly written on her face.
Before Arin could respond...
*WHOOSH*
Tessa suddenly lunged at him with incredible speed, her sword ready to strike. In an instant, like a blur, she reached him, and swung her sword towards his head.
But before the sword could reach Arin, he instantly ducked, evading the sword.
"Huh?"
Tessa was certain that she was fast enough for him not to evade, but it was as if he had already anticipated the attack.
'Her Sound Magic really makes her fast, but I already know her attack pattern.... It won't be a hassle,' Arin thought.
From the corner of his eyes, he noticed the system screen, and the words that were written on it.
[An Unwritten Event is happening.]
'Hmm, I guess the fourth Skill is the real deal,' he thought, with a smirk on his face.
Though, Tessa couldn't see it because of his mask.
'No, it was just luck.' Tessa reassured herself as she dashed towards Arin again, and swung her sword.
This time, he leaned backward, evading the sword by a few inches.
*WHOOSH* *WHOOSH* *WHOOSH*
"Left, right, up, down..." Arin kept muttering the angles of her attacks, evading her sword with perfect precision, as if he had practiced it all before.
It looked like a dance, the way he leaned forward, backward, and even ducked to avoid each strike.
*WHOOSH*
"Tch... stay in one place," Tessa said as she leaped towards Arin and swung her sword.
But then....
"Huh?" Tessa muttered as her sword struck empty air. Arin was no longer standing in the same spot.
"Looking for me...?" she suddenly heard Arin's voice behind her.
His back was resting against hers, his hands casually in his pockets.
Instantly, she swiftly turned back, and swung her sword, but Arin evaded.
"Wait... What is going on? How is he predicting my attacks?" Tessa muttered, confusion written all over her face. "Should I use my spells? No, no, things might get dangerous."
Though, from the look of things, she would have no choice but to use her spells if things got more serious than this.
Her relentless attacks continued, but Arin evaded every single one.
'These attacks.... these are the exact same attacks she used on him when he came here, now she's using it on me,' Arin noticed.
That was how he was able to evade every single attack, because he had read about it, and he remembered how she attacked.
Finally, Tessa backed off, panting slightly. "You're surprisingly skilled," she said, her tone mixed with curiosity and frustration. "But I won't be swayed so easily. Who are you?"
Arin took a deep breath, steadying himself. "You've given up, huh?" Arin said, his voice unwavering.
"W...who is he?" Tessa couldn't help but mutter as she stared at him.
His level of calmness and composure scared her, making her feel helpless in front of him. It was as if he knew her inside and out.
"I'm Chaos," Arin said, his voice firm. "I want you to meet me on the rooftop of the library tonight. There, I'll tell you everything you need to know."
Tessa hesitated, her gaze locked on him. "Why should I trust you?"
"Trust is earned," Arin replied, a smirk hidden beneath his mask. "But if you want answers, you'll have to come. I can offer you the truth, but only if you're willing to listen."
"What do yo~"
"Alex Whiteheart will be here in about 40 seconds from now," Arin suddenly interrupted her.
"He'll make a proposal. Please do well to accept his proposal if you want to know everything. If you don't, you'll remain in the dark forever, without ever knowing the truth," Arin said.
With that, he turned and began to walk away, leaving Tessa in the clearing with a swirl of emotions.
"What just happened....?"
The name "Chaos" rang in her head as she stared at Arin's exiting figure.
Few minutes later, Arin reached the dorm building, and saw some of the male students entering their different rooms.
He had already pulled the mask, and it was now in the inventory.
No one talked to him, and he didn't talk to anyone, after all, he didn't have friends here, he even knew that from the memories he received.
Instantly, he walked towards the second floor, and entered his room, before closing the door.
"There's no doubt, she'll come," Arin muttered, remembering his encounter with Tessa few moments ago.
"Though, she didn't use her Sound Magic to the max while attacking me.... She was holding back."
Tessa was popular in the Academy, not only because she was beautiful, but also because she was strong, and could use a unique type of Magic.
Sound Magic.
Arin knew that she didn't use her spells when she was attacking him.
'Maybe she was scared of killing me, haha," Arin laughed. "Such pathetic reason. Well, that'll change very soon."
Well, that aside, his plan was set in motion, and all he needed now was to wait for the night to fall.
But before that, there was something important he still had to do.
Yes, he remembered everything that happened in the novel till where the author currently stopped, but there was no guarantee that it would remain like that, so he decided to write down the important dates that important events would take place.
After all, those days would be days to cause... Chaos.
