Ein opened his mouth, dumbfounded. Was Adriel going to ignore his question? To move on to breakfast options? Just like that? On second thought, perhaps it wasn't a conversation to be had over the phone.
"Whatever you make is fine," Ein eventually said, but the confusion lingered like a fog in his mind.
To his surprise, Adriel decided to answer his question after all, a light-hearted tone shining through. "You killed me when you didn't know me at all, so it wasn't personal."
Ein wasn't sure whether to be concerned or thankful for Adriel's unbothered mindset.
"Also, you said you're wrapping things up," Adriel continued. "I don't see any reason why I wouldn't want to keep you close. We can make it work."
The sun peeked from behind the corner of the building, brushing against Ein's arm. He glanced at the light, his brow furrowed as he listened to the sound of a pan being taken from a drawer over the phone.
"That's your logic...?" he asked.
