Ein blinked, taken aback. The absurdity of the old lady's outrage made him chuckle despite himself. After the first chuckle, he burst out laughing. What a spectacular idea!
"Go ahead, call the cops!" he provoked her, unable to help himself. "At least then I'll have a place to spend the night!"
The old lady's thin lips were pursed in disapproval, her eyebrows knit like she was witnessing a terrible crime against humanity.
"Some of us are trying to enjoy a peaceful morning," she grumbled, leaning further out of the window, waving her hand like she was trying to swat a fly. "Get outta here! Shout elsewhere!"
Ein wiped away a tear of laughter before looking back up. "Where? If you tell me where to go, I'll leave!"
"Home! Go home!" She scowled at him and slammed the window, her curtains fluttering shut.
