The doorbell rang. Adriel practically teleported to the door. He yanked it open, expecting Ein, breakfast plans on his tongue. But instead, he was met by a face he had been trying to avoid in both conscious and unconscious worlds.
Hale regarded Adriel with a glare of unsettling determination—most likely expecting to be greeted first.
Smiling awkwardly and without a word, Adriel slowly closed the door in the evil spirit's face.
"Why is this happening? What does he want?" Adriel whispered under his breath, hoping Hale didn't show to jump him for whatever vendetta had driven him to come back.
He stood by the door and counted to ten, waiting to see if the evil spirit would walk through. When that didn't happen, he sighed and turned around, ready to move on. However, Hale's preferred mode of movement apparently was through walls.
"He is going against heaven's will!" Hale exclaimed, stepping through the wall.
