Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 9 : OLIVER GRAYSON-PART 1

"Shit... Shit... Oh God, what have our people done that they have given us such a huge punishment!"

"I, Oliver Grayson, swear that I won't spare them; one day, I'll take revenge on each one of them."

Saying this in anger, he took an oath and sat down on the ground, crying hard.

After crying for a while, he wiped his tears and placed his hand on the ground to get up, as blood was coming from the wound on his leg.

"Where have I ended up? Ahh... My leg won't stop bleeding, what should I do to stop it?"

Saying this, Oliver began to press his hand on the wound and looked around for something to stop the bleeding. Then, he noticed a plant growing from the roots under a large tree on the right side.

"Maybe this plant will help stop the bleeding," he said, moving towards it.

He uprooted the plant, which was about 40 cm long, with large leaves that were yellowish in color. As he held it in his hand, something came to his mind.

Oliver, shocked, exclaimed, "This is Calenshadow, a very rare plant with expensive medicinal properties. It wasn't that expensive for me before, but now it feels costly."

"I remember reading in the [UNION MEDICAL BOOK] that if you crush its large leaves and apply them to a wound, it helps heal faster. Let's try it."

With that thought, he placed the Calenshadow plant on a nearby stone and sat down. Using a small rock, he crushed the leaves into a paste and applied it to his wound, crying out in pain, "Ahhhh... Arggg... It burns!"

After a while, the bleeding stopped, and he felt some relief. He leaned back against a tree to rest.

Two hours later, he opened his eyes and checked his wound, feeling much less pain. He thought to himself, "After five nights of surviving without food or water, I might have reached [ZOMOUNT] Mountain, which means even more danger."

"I have to get out of here quickly, but I don't have enough strength left. Even a basic Stone Body level Sanatorus could defeat me now."

"I'll hide my presence so that these monsters can't detect me."

With that, he activated his stealth skill and began to move forward cautiously.

Carefully jumping from tree to tree without making a sound, Oliver began descending from [ZOMOUNT]. As he made his way down, he paused whenever he saw valuable herbs, collecting them and storing them in his [STORAGE SPACE RING].

As Oliver continued, he eventually reached a vast, barren land. It was the kind of place Oliver knew he never wanted to encounter. But misfortune often finds those who try to avoid it, doesn't it, my dear readers?

Stopping on a large tree, he surveyed the area and said,

"This is Atriks, stretching for kilometers. All it does is absorb living things and create more of its kind."

Frustrated, he cursed Atriks as he noticed a statue-like figure.

"Hmm... What is that? Nah, it must just be a rock. Nothing living can survive here."

Deciding to proceed along the rocky path to his left, Oliver was startled when the figure he thought was a rock began to move and scream. Shocked, he muttered,

"What... It's a person! If it is, I hope they die painlessly. Otherwise, he must have committed some great sin."

He waited on the tree branch, watching the person writhing and screaming like a madman, and remarked,

"Atriks is truly cruel, absorbing the life from creatures while they're still alive. It would be kinder if it killed them first."

As he watched the man trembling in pain, Oliver saw a black force begin to cover the man's body. Shocked, he said, "What... is that black force covering him? No matter how hard you try, escaping from Atriks is impossible..."

Before he could finish, the man suddenly leaped into the air. Oliver was so stunned that he couldn't speak for two minutes, as if something was stuck in his throat.

After a moment, he finally managed to say, "How... is this possible? Escaping Atriks is supposed to be impossible." He continued, "We were taught that Atriks is a mysterious being, one of the many unsolved mysteries of the [Zyphoria World]. Anyone who comes into contact with it has their life force and strength drained, leaving them helpless and driven to suicide."

"And here I am, witnessing a young man, about 20 years old, break free from Atriks' grasp."

"I need to keep a closer watch on this person to understand the secret behind escaping Atriks. It could become a trump card in taking my revenge."

After calculating everything, Oliver watched the man who was still in the air, leaping up and down and heading toward the cliffs. Oliver was speechless as he watched, unable to find words for what he was seeing.

The man rested on the ground for a while, and then the next day, he got up and started looking at the ground where the Atriks were. Oliver, watching patiently, thought

, "Why is he looking at the Atriks? Is he planning to go back onto their land?" He said this to himself as the man began moving toward the Atriks again.

Watching this, Oliver's heart started racing, and he said, "You worked so hard to get out, and now you're going back into their jaws." Then he fell silent.

The man bent down, wrapping his clothes around himself, and began gathering something with his hands that Oliver couldn't understand.

"What is it about that [Magnetic Black Soil] that he's collecting? Besides Atriks, there's nothing else there... maybe there's something," he thought,

watching as the man, with his back turned, did something Oliver couldn't see.

Then Oliver remembered what his parents had said, "My mom and dad used to say to go out and see the world, full of crazy and amazing talents. I was foolish not to listen to them." Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at the man.

The man rose again, with a black force appearing in front of him, and then it disappeared. Seeing all this, Oliver was in shock, still unable to understand what was happening.

After a while, Oliver controlled his emotions and observed the man who had become completely still, like a stone, without any movement or sound.

"Why is he standing so still? It's extremely dangerous to be stationary in one place," Oliver thought.

Then the man's body was covered with a black color, and Oliver remarked,

"I've never seen or read about this black aura before. I know there are four types of aura colors."

"This black aura must be something new. This man seems to be wrapped in mystery, and I need to stay away from him."

The man remained as still as a statue for three hours, and Oliver, emotionlessly observing, found what had seemed impossible now becoming a reality.

"Did I overlook something about the Atriks, or were the teachings wrong? What is happening and how?" Oliver wondered, struggling to comprehend the situation.

"Three hours have passed, and this man remains unmoved. No Atriks has approached him as if they are being repelled. What is he doing that prevents the Atriks from coming near?"

Oliver realized he needed to learn about the unknown power this man possessed and decided to keep a close watch without angering him. Just then, the man began to laugh, which confused Oliver.

The man's laughter stopped, and he floated into the air, heading towards large rocks. As he approached, he used his powers, causing the black aura around him to lift pieces of rock from the ground and propel them quickly in his direction.

Oliver could only exclaim in shock, "What? How?"

The pieces of rock flew swiftly towards the man, and as he raised his left hand, they changed direction and collided, causing a powerful explosion. Oliver, still in disbelief, muttered:

"I must be going insane. How is this even possible?"

Oliver observed from a distance, carefully keeping his presence hidden for four days. As the days passed, his shock subsided, but he continued to be astonished by the events unfolding before him.

On the fourth day, he saw the man, who had demonstrated immense power and brutality, confronting the Sanatorus. The man was evidently a "psychopath killer" with a ruthless nature.

Oliver watched as the man, displaying his formidable abilities, dealt with the Sanatorus. Two of the Sanatorus were subdued effortlessly, while the third, in a desperate bid to save its life, begged for mercy. The man granted it, allowing the third Sanatorus to escape.

Oliver noted that the third Sanatorus eventually returned with the body of the second Sanatorus, which had been severely beaten. It burned the body with its power, demonstrating a cold and calculated cruelty.

Oliver remained stealthily hidden 300 meters away behind a large tree, confident in his ability to stay undetected. He mused:

"Perhaps the third Sanatorus, relieved to have saved its life, returned to dispose of the body of its fallen comrade in a display of triumph."

Oliver continued to observe, fascinated and disturbed by the man's display of power and the grim reality of his nature.

Oliver had misunderstood, thinking that the man was burning the Sanatorus. However, when he saw the man eating the creature, his anger flared up.

"This psychopath is eating a

S-A-N-A-T-O-R-U-S, a creature considered a [Royal Monster] in [Zyphoria World], honored with royal respect. I can't stand watching this, yet I am powerless to stop him," he thought, seething with anger.

The man, after finishing his meal, leaned against a tree, seemingly satisfied. Watching this, Oliver felt darkness creeping over his eyes and, in panic, muttered to himself, "What's happening to me? Why is everything going dark?"

He whispered desperately, "I don't want to die. I have promises to keep and revenge to take. It's not my time yet."

With these thoughts, Oliver fainted, a tear escaping his eye.

When he awoke, he was relieved and silently thanked God, "Phew, I'm alive. Thank you, God, for sparing me."

(Author's Note: The God says, "I saved you this time, but I won't save you again. Go and fulfill your revenge.")

The man Oliver had been observing was standing just a meter away, speaking to himself in words Oliver couldn't comprehend.

When the man turned to face him, Oliver steeled himself, determined not to show any weakness. In a voice filled with courage, he began to question the mysterious figure before him.

"How did you find me among these large and dense trees, and is the [ELEMENTAL SANATORUS] your pet? If so, why would anyone try to kill a small child like this?" Saying this, he started rubbing the painful area.

The mysterious man, instead of answering Oliver's questions, countered with his own inquiries.

"Why are you following me?" he asked, his voice calm but firm. "What do you hope to gain from observing me so closely?"

Oliver, taken aback by the unexpected turn, hesitated for a moment. He gathered his thoughts, realizing he needed to be cautious with his words. The man's piercing gaze seemed to see right through him, adding to Oliver's unease.

"I... I just wanted to understand how you escaped the Atriks," Oliver replied carefully. "It's something I've never seen before, and I thought it might help me... survive."

The man's expression softened slightly, yet there was an intensity in his eyes as he considered Oliver's response. The air between them was thick with tension as Oliver awaited the man's next move, unsure of his intentions.

Mysterious man Asked again ,

"Did your family not teach you to show respect to those older than you, and you are not in a position to ask me to explain?"

After a moment of calm, he continued, "How long have you been watching me? And what is Your Name Boy? "

In a slightly nervous voice, the boy began to introduce himself to mysterious man:

"My name is... Oliver... Oliver Grayson."
