Chapter 228 - Vol. 2 Chapter 228 - Overwhelming Victories

It was obvious that the bulky woman was furious! It seemed that Kai had hit a nerve with her.....

As always, Kai's ability was amazing. His sarcastic words always hit the opponent's pain point!

The girl instantly lunged at Kai! As soon as she took her first step, her entire body was enveloped in a dark brown colour. It was obvious that her attribute was one of elemental. And most likely related to earth energy.

As she approached Kai, she threw a straight punch at his face. As this blow flew towards him, Kai noticed the girl's hand being covered in something similar to sharp stones.

- Bang!' There was a loud sound of something hitting the ground.

- Slowly. - Calmly replied Kai, after dodging with ease.

The girl's punches were indeed impressive, except that her speed made her wish for better....

- Swat! - She cursed and lunged at Kai again.

- Bam! Bang! Bang! Bam! - A series of loud bursts of energy began to erupt.

The arena was very strong, these blasts couldn't even leave a scratch on it. This made the sounds seem even louder.

'Her bodily defence is strong... Should I try comparing it to mine?' - Smiling evilly, Kai thought.

After training in the Shadowlands and developing his bloodline, Kai's body had become even stronger. This opponent was the perfect one to test it out.

- Fight, coward! - The bulky woman shouted, and threw another punch!

She seemed to be very displeased with Kaya constantly dodging and not going for a direct confrontation with her.

- Whatever you say! Hehe. - Laughing issued Kai and instantly stopped!

He quickly put his right leg back, getting into a fighting stance and making himself stable. And then, immediately struck back with his fist!

At this moment, Kai didn't even use his energy, he wanted to test his body! He punched in such a way that their fists collided right in the air!

- Ba-bang! - There was another loud explosion of energy and both opponents flew several metres away from each other!

Each of them remained standing on their feet, they were just thrown back a bit by the impact. Neither one had any visible injuries.

'Hmm... Slightly numb, but overall fine!' - Smiling appraised Kai, looking at his fist

With just his body alone, he calmly managed to block such a massive and heavy lunge. It showed how much the development of his bloodline had strengthened him.

- How...' the girl said in shock, "You're finished..." she said through her teeth.

As soon as these words were spoken, her energy began to rise to a new level and her eyes turned red. Also, the silhouettes of two curved horns were forming on her forehead.

'It seems I made a mistake... Her attribute is of the intrinsic type, not the elemental type... But come on, it doesn't change anything. Hehe.' - With a smile, Kai thought.

Earlier, he had assumed that his opponent's technique was related to the element of earth. But now, it seemed that it was most likely an earth-type animal. The silhouettes of those horns and red eyes spoke of that.

- Prepare to die puppy! - Shouted the girl.

- Time to call it a day... - Kai gave out lazily.

- Shoo! - With the sound of air splitting, Kai instantly disappeared!

In the blink of an eye, appearing behind the girl's back, he delivered a crushing blow straight to the back of her head! Kai didn't spare her, and even coated his fist with destructive energy before making contact himself. It was done so fast that she didn't even manage to react!

- Fshduv! - There was a loud and whipping blow of his fist against the girl's skull!

From that, she was immediately slammed into the ground! It was a very hard landing! From the fact that the arena was incredibly strong, she was unable to cushion the impact from the fall!

- Kha! - Bouncing lightly off the floor, the girl briefly shouted out. After that, she immediately lost consciousness....

Watching this, Kai calmly turned around and went to his seat. And the people from the Medicine Hall ran out onto the stage, promptly taking the girl away.

In the past half a year, all aspects of Kai's combat power had soared to a new level. Previously, it was likely that Kai would have simply not been able to knock her out. He wouldn't even have been able to deliver such a swift strike. Although the Shadow Mark allowed one to instantly be behind the opponent's back, it did not speed up the strike itself. With good reflexes, the opponent would be able to block this type of attack.

When Kai returned to his seat, the guy at the side simply smilingly nodded and congratulated Kai. He seemed to have now realised that they were in completely different leagues. Most likely, Kai hadn't come just to increase his Rank.

Although rank 177 couldn't be considered one of the top ten contenders, but Kai had defeated it too easily. It showed that he hadn't even slightly tapped into his potential.

Calmly pouring himself some tea, Cai felt eyes on him from all sides. He ignored the stares from the spectator stands. He was only interested in his potential opponents.

'I see... About fifty have taken note of me. They must be the students who will be fighting for the top ten.' - Kai thought smiling.

This reaction from the people around him was completely normal. Previously, Kai himself had done the same thing when evaluating the Enchanting Flute. It was just that not everyone's perception was as keen as Kai's. He, in turn, could almost accurately name everyone who was considering him.

Ignoring all of this, Kai continued to watch the fights on the stage. Time slowly passed, and the sun slowly passed its peak. A few more hours and it would start to get dark.... However, the Tournament of Hundred would not stop, the battles would continue even at night!

During the last hours of the battles, Kai had picked up a few more interesting people. But so far, the most memorable of all were Enchanting Flute and White Fang. This was the guy who was the Trainer. He didn't fight alone, but teamed up with three, large wolves.

This was not forbidden, as the beasts were part of the master's power. And a trainer's skill depends on two factors. How strong beasts he can tame, and how many. White Fang could control three at once, which was entirely to his own credit!

This was the first time Kai had seen such a strange fighting style. It seemed that the Tamer himself, tried to avoid direct confrontation with his opponent. He was constantly behind the backs of his beasts and gave them mental and verbal commands.

This was also one of the guy's clever tricks. Sometimes, he would shout out a command, but the beast would do the exact opposite! It seemed that truly, all the commands were only mental. But this way, White Fang could confuse his opponent. Even if you knew about this trick, it could play a cruel trick in a fierce fight. A second's confusion, could be very costly.....

While Kai was musing about this, it was his turn again. He saw his opponent, and was immediately a little upset.....

'Arena 3. 245 vs. 223.'

Although Kai had previously defeated Rank 177, but for the convenience of the Tournament of Hundred, the entire Ranking would only be updated after the Tournament was over. In fact, Kai was already ranked 177. Except that the participant number remained the same.

When Kai entered the arena, he saw the swordsman across from him.

- Are you going to fight or would you rather surrender? - Kai asked calmly.

- Are you kidding me?! Of course I'll fight! Don't underestimate me... Kha! - The guy started to shout, but suddenly stopped and spat out a big gulp of blood!

Kai instantly interrupted him... He used Shadow Mark and appeared right in front of his opponent. Without even using energy, he delivered a brutal blow straight to the guy's solar plexus. From that, the swordsman immediately collapsed to the arena floor.

- As soon as we entered the arena, the fight began. I started talking to you, just to see if you wanted to fight. - Kai said nonchalantly, 'Shall we continue? - He asked calmly.

- N... No. I give up... - Barely breathing, replied the guy lying on the ground.

At this point, the swordsman could no longer move normally and needed time to stabilise his breathing. It was clear that the fight was over. To continue it would be self-torture.

- All right! I'm sorry I hit you so hard. Heh-heh. - Kai said kindly and went back to his seat without a care in the world.

Thus, Kai's second fight was not interesting at all. But that was okay, since the seeding worked on the principle of randomness. If Kai was really ranked around 245th place, his first fight could be considered unfair. That was why, Kai's neighbour sympathised with him at that moment.

Evening came and the entire Fatuma Supreme Arena glowed! Everything was arranged in such a way that the system of arrays and glowing stones created quite a bright environment. From the direction of the Boundless Waters, darkness was slightly penetrating as that side wasn't covered by walls. But it didn't interfere at all with watching the fights in the arenas.

Kai's third fight was even more futile. There he got caught with a girl of Rank 238. She immediately gave up and didn't even try to fight him. Perhaps if she hadn't seen his first fight, she would have thought that he might show mercy to the girl. Except that her predecessor had lost in too brutal a manner.....

As the night went on, and the number of potential challengers became fewer and fewer... There were many participants who had already dropped out of the Tournament of Hundred. Gradually, all the challengers were becoming more and more skilful. Evaluating this environment, Kai surmised that there shouldn't be any more cases like his second and third fights. His next opponent would have to be fought.

Now, Kai was watching another very interesting guy... This was a technique that Kai had also not seen before. Even Shuo hadn't talked about such a thing in great detail...

The strange, pale-looking guy was rank 128 and had the nickname Dark Puppeteer. Already by his nickname, it was clear what exactly he was doing. As with White Fang, he mostly fought with something other than his own hands.

This guy controlled a strange puppet, which was like a big man with two pairs of arms. And each of them held a different weapon. It was a rather strange method of fighting.....

Now the second-to-last battle of the Dark Puppeteer was unfolding on the stage. But unfortunately, he had no suitable opponents to fulfil his potential. As was the case with everyone Kai paid special attention to... Even he himself was in a similar situation....

'Looks like I'll have to recognise their combat power in battle... Enchanting Flute, White Fang, Smouldering Puppeteer, Thunder Ram and that other strange swordsman... The Wind Prince...' - In thought, Kai reasoned.

These were all the people who were maximally remembered by Kai. Although there were still a few rather strong Personal Disciples, but this five seemed not only strong, but also unique! In Kai's opinion, they would definitely be in the top ten....
