As soon as Kai entered the room, he immediately heard the thud of the door hitting.
Dum! - The sound even made the dust rise slightly.
The Tower of Truth was deep underground, and the lower floors were literally carved into the stone rock. The very door to the Tomb of Time was also made of stone. When it closed, even the passage itself seemed to disappear from view. Only slightly visible slits remained, in the shape of a rectangle.
Stepping inside, Kai was a little surprised. It was very spacious inside....
- Wow... It seems it won't be as harsh as I thought. Hehehe. - Kai started to laugh to himself, but suddenly he shouted out, -Ai-yay! Damn! I need to recover soon, I can't even laugh in peace..." said Kai self-deprecatingly.
At that moment, he looked up again and began to look around. Although it was vast inside, it couldn't be compared to Diso's chambers, where the whole mansion was located. Still, the Tomb of Time didn't seem like some cramped, damp cave.
Inside was a small hut, literally a few square metres. It was built with simple wood, no frills. But it looked quite sturdy and solid. The ceiling of the cave had the same improvised clouds and lighting as the previous room.
There was a small garden and vegetable garden near the cabin, where various vegetables and fruits grew. But upon examining them, Kai realised that they were simple food. They were simple herbs that couldn't be used for alchemy or cultivation.
Also not far from the hut, Kai saw a small river where there even seemed to be a current.
"Hmm... How could there be a current here? I mean, we're deep underground..." - Thinking about it, Kai instantly released his perception.
The entire area of the Time Tomb was in the palm of his hand. He could see everything that was happening within it. But he was also surprised that everything outside the walls seemed to be behind a barrier, he couldn't see anything. After thinking about it for a bit, he realised that this was quite normal, as he was sealed in here.
While Kai was pondering this, a sudden gasp came from him.
"Oh, a fish! Good thing I'll have something other than grass in my diet!" - Suddenly exclaimed Kai in his head.
He noticed with his perception how different kinds of fish were swimming in the pond and crabs were crawling along the bottom. He began to examine the bottom more carefully and finally realised where the current was coming from.
- I see. There are underground caves with water flowing through them... I've never seen anything like this before... - Kai said to himself.
After looking around a bit more, Kai started to move towards the hut, dragging his feet. Opening the door, he saw very tidy surroundings. The bed was simple, but seemed comfortable. Beside it, the room had a desk, a chair, and a place to put his clothes. There was nothing else in the hut.
- Quite cosy. Just what I needed... Strict and nothing extra. Hehehe. - Laughing gently, Kai said to himself.
"Alright, I need to recover to my peak first. Cultivating the Invisible Kings Torture Technique will be idiotic..." - Thought Kai.
After that, he took off all of his dirty and torn clothes. This mundane process didn't seem simple to him now. It was bloody difficult!
As soon as the clothes were removed, the Astral Sacrifice Fire incinerated them in a second. There wasn't even a trace of it left. Kai didn't understand why he would litter these leftover clothes in his new home.
In that state, he walked towards the pond to give himself a good scrubbing of the dirt, ashes, and dried blood. All of these things created a lot of discomfort and itching all over Kai's body.
It was only after half an hour of bathing that Kai finally got out of the water. Although he had washed away so much dirt, the water was already crystal clear. The current was quite strong. All the mud was instantly dragged into the underwater caves.
After drying himself with the fire and putting on new, loose trousers, Kai returned to the hut.
- I'll get some sleep first... My body is too tired... Yes I'm in no condition to concentrate on recovery. Sleep is also a medicine! - Relaxedly said Kai.
It was obvious that when he had finally washed, changed and relaxed, his physiological needs made themselves felt. Normally Kai could go without sleep for a long time, replacing it with meditation and energy absorption. But in the case of such incredible fatigue, simply meditating would no longer help.
When Kai realised this, he decided not to resist his needs. He took some pills out of the ring, popped them in his mouth, and went to sleep. This way, the initial recovery should happen faster.
As soon as Kai closed his eyes, he instantly passed out. At that moment, it felt like his brain and body were dissolving into space. Fatigue was literally spreading through his body, causing a pleasant numbness.
Sleep and the pills were beginning to do their thing. The healing process seemed to be smoother as Kai's consciousness didn't get in the way. His body was tuning itself out on an instinctual level, which was sometimes much more effective. In this state, he continued to stay like this for another two whole days....
......
- Mmmg... - Suddenly there was a sleepy groan from Kai.
He slowly opened his eyes, surveying his surroundings. At first, he didn't even realise what was happening.
- Oh, right... I'm in the Tomb of Time... Huh? - Said to himself Kai suddenly exclaimed.
He noticed the state of his body, and the fact that he could move conventionally freely.
- Pretty good! Recovery is going by leaps and bounds! Hehehe. - Kai said with a laugh.
It seemed that Kessia's bloodline in tandem with Kai's cultivation technique was really working wonders. Almost all the bones had already fused and the cracks had healed. The flesh was also returning to normal.
- A few more days and everything would be fine! Now, I'm really hungry! - Kai said contentedly, rubbing his belly.
Kai started doing his favourite thing again. Talking out loud to himself... It seemed that loneliness didn't scare him at all, he could even joke and laugh alone.
After a long sleep, Kai decided to catch some fish and roast them. He had gone to a lot of shops and bought everything he needed. His rings even had various spices and cooking implements. Not to mention the litres of wine....
Sometimes Kai acted like an old grandfather... He just needed someone to just leave him alone and let him have a quiet drink alone.
For a Cultivator, catching fish was a breeze. They didn't need to use different gadgets, unlike how mortals did. If there was good energy control, you could just envelope the fish with it. And then you could just throw it ashore in a swift motion.
Half an hour later, Kai was smiling at the almost cooked fish. And at the same time, he refilled his wine glass.
- Heh-heh-heh. If I wasn't so curious, maybe I'd just settle down in a place like this and live like this until I die. But alas, it's not for me. - Smiling, Kai said to himself.
Although he liked this kind of relaxation and atmosphere, it was not part of his essence. Kai wanted to get to the truth. First the truth of his own secrets, and then the truth of everything!
- There was a time for everything. Now is the time for rest. But soon, I'll finally get back to training! The kings must be waiting for me! Hehehe. - Kai said with a wicked smile.
