It made sense that large forces had incredible resources under them. The deals they were involved in were on a completely different scale. In their cases, it was impossible for them to constantly carry around mountains of crystals or other resources. Therefore, the administrative services of the Border Beast City took on the function of a regulator. They were responsible for making sure that the terms of the receipt were binding.
It worked very simply, you made promises to the city that you would pay off the receipt. The city in turn acted as a guarantor that the other party would get their resources.
And it was best not to break your promises, for the consequences were disastrous. In the Border City of the Beast, contracts were unbreakable. No one dared to ignore the fulfilment of their terms.
Naturally, Kai didn't know about these receipts and guarantees. He was far enough away from all the bureaucracy, and he didn't participate in the life of the city. It was ideal that he had a brother like Diso, for he was very skilful in business matters.
Sometimes a man cannot fulfil his potential if he is confined in too restrictive an environment. Such was the case with Diso. The Moon Shine Empire's region was too insignificant to discover its potential. Now, however, Diso shone in all its glory, and Kai was immensely glad for it. He would have had a much harder time on his own.
Looking at the receipt, Kai took it and said with a smile:
- Thanks Fatty! I'm counting on you! Hehehe. - Laughing Kai laughed and started to walk out of the office.
- Good luck Brother Kai! Just please don't get involved in anything again. Just calmly walk to the Source Tower and ignore everything around you. Hahaha. - Teasingly, Diso said afterwards.
Stepping out into the bustling streets of the city, Kai decided to go shopping first. He wanted to spend an impressive amount of time in the Istok Tower. Having learnt from bitter experience, he wanted to buy several sets of clothes and enough food and wine.
Kai realised that provided the Tomb of Time is sealed the moment you enter. It should have its own renewable resources for food and water. Still, it was unlikely that there would be delicious wine there....
Although Cai had asked for resources for a cultivation room from Diso, it didn't mean that he didn't have his own pocket money. It was just that the Tomb of Time was too expensive. For ordinary groceries, he had more than enough money.
While Kai was shopping and buying goods, he was already being watched from around the corner.
"Hmm... Who's that following me around?" - Pondered Kai.
Kai's perception was already at a monstrous level. But when his Spiritual Sea opened up, it seemed like the area around him that he could control had increased many times over.
The few people following him were very good at hiding, keeping a decent distance. But against Kai, it was useless.
"Fine, fuck them. If they want to, they'll come up on their own..." - Kai thought and continued shopping.
Right now he didn't care at all about all these backstage games. Diso had already warned him that a lot of people were digging for more information. Kai wanted no part of it.
At that moment, round the corner, one of the watchers gave an order to a girl standing nearby.
- Tell the Head that this puppy has reappeared on the streets of the city! - He quickly said and continued watching.
The girl quickly nodded and ran somewhere.
...
Kai walked around the market stalls for another hour or so, and after gathering everything he needed, moved out in the direction of the Tower of the Source.
"And how long should I occupy the Tomb of Time? If I count the time inside, three months might not be enough... Should I still stay there for six months? I think that would definitely be enough time for me..." - Kai pondered, walking quietly down one of the main streets.
"Should I leave Border Beast City as soon as I reach the Cloud Sphere?" - Kai wondered.
He already understood what he should do in the near future, and also what he should do in the future. Except that the connecting point between these events was vague. Even if he reached the Cloud Sphere, how would he then enter the Shadow Sect?
Thinking about this, Kai walked as if hovering in the clouds.
But here! His musings were interrupted by a rough voice.
- Ha ha. It's good to see you with your own eyes puppy! - The male voice said arrogantly.
Looking up, Kai saw a tall and sturdy man standing a few metres away from him. His skin was tanned and his muscles seemed like steel. He had a short haircut on his head, which wasn't exactly typical.
His hands were wearing black gloves. They were made as if they were made of flexible metal. On them, slightly visible spikes stood out.
His face expressed incredible arrogance and insolence.
"Hmm, what kind of arsehole is this? He's already at a high stage of the Cloud Sphere... And the energy density isn't small. He's definitely not an ordinary person..." - Evaluatingly looking at the man, Kai thought.
- What's with that arrogant look?! You think that just because you're some fucking Counsellor, you're allowed to do anything? - Roughly asked the man, smiling maliciously.
Watching these childish provocations, Kai began to boil a little. But not at the man's words, but at his stupidity.
- I think you are wrong, have a nice day. - Kai replied calmly and started to walk around the man.
- Stop! Who let you move? - Said the man, and put his hand on Kai's shoulder.
In doing so, he purposely started squeezing it to cause pain. Considering that his hands were wearing those strange gloves, such a grip could break the bones of an ordinary master.
"Fuck... I'll try one more time.... If you insist, I'll fucking kill you..." - Kai thought, continuing to ignore the man's actions.
He had more important things to do right now, he didn't want to waste his precious time, on every idiot he met.
- Look, I already told you. You seem to have made a mistake, leave me alone. - Once again, Kai said calmly.
Saying this, he waved his hand, breaking the man's grip and freeing himself from his hand. Though from the outside it seemed like an easy movement. But in reality, there was incredible strength in Kai's movement.
- Heh-heh. You're fucked, kid. You think I don't know who you are? I can see how you want to run away with your tail between your legs, but you won't. Counsellor Kai. - In an angry tone, the man said.
- Okay, let's get this over with quickly, I don't have time for you. Who are you and what do you want from me? - Kai asked calmly, starting to feel slightly irritated.
- Ooh, you're talking. Scared already? Hahaha. - Laughing the man said.
- Can you get to the point? I'm fed up with you, my time is not unlimited. - Kai answered rudely.
He had the urge to beat up this huge idiot, just to avoid hearing his words. But alas, the rules of the Border Beast City prevented such things. No one was an exception!
- Puppy, if we weren't in the city, I would have killed you for saying that. - The man said angrily, "Do you know who you're talking to? I am the head of the Fury Group! - The man said proudly.
