Diso meant that they would be the intermediary between the customer and the incredible Master of Alchemy. Due to this, everyone who wanted their pill would have to discuss everything with Diso. And most likely, all of these people would be from the higher ranks.
Many people were already interested in the Trade and Research Union Auction. Now all of a sudden, their alchemist wanted to work on complex orders himself. A perfect situation to gain even more allies. That was what Diso meant when he talked about using the situation for the good of the alliance.
- Brother Diso, one more question. There are different cultivation areas in the Source Tower, and I'm completely unaware of them. Is there something like... Places where you can fight with living creatures? - Kai asked, trying to find the right words.
- Hmm... If you want to fight living creatures, the Endless Wasteland would be a good place for that. The Tower of the Source only has a battle arena with beasts. - Diso explained thoughtfully.
- Are they allowed to kill them? Is the fight being watched? - Kai asked clarifying questions.
- Everything is restricted there, for the safety of the training. Although you can be badly wounded, the Handlers are watching the beasts. They will stop them at the critical moment. - Looking at Kai, the Fat Man said, "That's why you won't have to kill the beasts. They're hard to tame, so killing them will have to be compensated, and that's not very cheap..." said Diso, looking at Kai suspiciously.
- I see your point. It's not an option for me. Let's forget about it for now... - Kai said rubbing his chin.
Having discussed all the nuances, Kai finally left the headquarters of the Trade and Research Union. He advanced directly to the Quest Hall.
"After such a large amount of time and things done, I can finally begin to develop quietly..." - Kai thought as he walked towards the central square of Border Beast City.
Right now, he wanted to hurry up and leave his proposal at the Mission Hall. But this wasn't a mission, you could say he was posting his vacancy. Generally, adverts of this format were only posted on the higher floors, where missions were much more complex and specific.
If someone needed to produce a rare and complex pill, it was easier to find a reputable Master of Alchemy and come to him. It would be much more foolish to leave a mission request and expect the Master to come to the Quest Hall himself looking for missions.
People of that status didn't need money, they had plenty of it. They were more interested in challenging missions. In payment, they were likely to take rare items or ingredients. That was another factor why only the elite could afford their services.
An hour later, Kai was already quietly leaving the Hall of Quest and heading towards the Alchemists' Organisation.
Right now, on the fifth floor of the Task Hall, there was a simple advertisement on behalf of the Alchemist Master. Kai wouldn't have been allowed to write such a thing if he hadn't authenticated the information with his plaque. The text read:
"I, Master of Alchemy of the Trade and Research Union, have had time to continue exploring the arcane ways of alchemy. I will only take on challenging tasks, for my own interest and research.
The terms are simple, if you know what you want, bring the ingredients and a description of the pill and its properties. If you want a specific pill but don't know if it's possible. Then bring me a detailed description of your situation and the desired result. If I can fulfil it, then I will provide you with a list of the ingredients you need.
Also, if I spoil your ingredients, the Trade and Research Union will compensate them. But if your order is fulfilled, you must pay a decent price. I don't work for free!
I'm not a public figure. Therefore, all orders are taken only through the Trade and Research Union headquarters.
One last thing. I'll only be working for a few months. When my free time is over, any orders will be rejected, regardless of the price offered!"
Kai was moving towards the alchemists for a reason. He wanted to stop by the library and borrow some books. To prepare a pill for Magister Gustal, Kai named the ingredients by their properties. But there are only a few who have such knowledge as the Master of Alchemy. No one can identify ingredients by their properties alone. How can Kai provide a list of the right ingredients to the customer if he doesn't know the names himself.
That's why he wanted to take basic books that described all sorts of plants, breeds, beast parts and other ingredients.
Now Kai's status in the Alchemist Organisation was quite special, and the right people had long been aware of it. So when he visited them, and explained why he was here, he was not obstructed and was allowed to enter quietly and take the books.
The library was huge, literally crammed with books and scrolls. Everything was efficiently sorted into sections, making it very easy for him. But Kai still spent a few hours there going through the materials and picking out the ones he wanted. Every book he liked, he put it in his ring, so he wouldn't forget it.
When he went to the librarian to write down what books he had borrowed, he was a little shocked. With a wave of his hand, over fifty books appeared from Kai's ring. Nothing would have happened if he had just taken them out without even registering them. Since no one would dare to give him any trouble. But Kai was respectful of other people's labour. He didn't want to force the poor librarian to figure out on his own which books were missing from this huge collection.
- W... Will you take all of these? - The librarian asked strangely.
- Yes, but don't worry, I'll be sure to send someone to bring it all back. It might take me some time to study it though. - Said Kai with a smile.
- Ah. Good. I'll write everything down now, please wait a moment. - The man replied quickly. It seemed like he wanted to get things done quickly.
Normally, it would take an incredible amount of time for a person to qualitatively study so many books. But Kai had memories of alchemy from the Astral Alchemy Emperor himself. He just had to match his knowledge with the different names and nuances of his contemporaries. It was much easier than learning everything from scratch.
Kai had already calculated that in parallel with practice, on orders from the Quest Hall, he would be able to master it all faster. The time allotted for alchemy should be enough.
When the man was finally done, Kai packed everything back into the ring and went to the Tower of Truth, to Diso's floor. It was there that he would spend the entirety of the near future without getting out of the alchemy room.
After a small amount of time, Kai walked out of the platform room straight towards Diso's mansion.
"Wow, it seems the garden has already started to develop little by little. Just a little more time and we can get the crops on stream." - Kai thought with a smile and headed to the mansion.
Many of the plants in the garden had already started to sprout, even small trees could be seen appearing. Because of the array and the incredibly saturated energy, everything was developing at seven leaps and bounds. In fact, it was no small thing that Kai had replicated the arrangement of the herbs from the Astral Garden. Although he didn't understand the principles, they gave off an incredibly favourable effect. Most likely, if the herbs were planted in random order, some of them wouldn't even grow.
After entering the mansion, Kai followed to the alchemy room and with a wave of his hand, he pulled out all the books he had collected in the library. Thinking and looking at them, he said to himself:
- "Okay, I guess I'll start with Fundamentals of Alchemy and Fundamental Ingredients. There won't be any orders in the next few days anyway, it'll take some time... - Saying that, Kai sat down on the floor and opened the first book.
By the time Diso makes an announcement and someone goes to the Quest Hall to hire Kai, it should be a while. Moreover, the customer still had to clarify all the points with the Trade and Research Union. So Kai decided to do something useful instead of waiting.
