Screams rang throughout the crowd. Dust was kicked up from the rocky ground as people ran.
Everything was going exactly how Garfield desired.
A second pillar crashed down, sending ripples through the ground, and debris flying in the air.
People fled into buildings, hoping to find refuge.
Large plumes of dust now filled the air, obscuring vision and creating even more confusion.
This was not a good situation for Kermit. He and his men (frogs) all began to surround the square, scanning for suspicious persons, hoping to take down the culprit before more damage could be caused.
First aid teams rushed into site, a mere 20 minutes after the first pillar fell. There was on overwhelming number of injured, and the number of wounded kept on increasing.
Kermit knew something must be done soon, or else the situation could only get worse.
Dust clouds began to clear, and the storm was over for the time being. The first aid teams were unable keep up, ambulances rushed onto site, and tents temporarily were set up to better administer to those in need of medical attention.
But this was not enough. You couldn't account for the unknown number of people who could be stuck under rubble, hiding in fear, or who simply ran away from the scene with injuries.
No matter how you sliced it, this would be a tough blow for Kermit and his influence throughout the public.
To try and salvage his image, Kermit knew it would be best to make a personal appearance. There were a multitude of tall buildings, although quite a number were in shambles, they could be used.
A government helicopter silently dropped Kermit down onto the building. Carrying with him only a microphone and amp, it would be up to him, and only him, to sway the people after such a tragedy.
"My dear citizens, it is with a heavy heart, that I must apologize to all of you"
"What has just happened here at this festival is terrible, absolutely inexcusable…"
As Kermit glances around the crowd, a lot window caught his eye in a building almost, but not perfectly aligned with him.
In that window, through the tint of reinforced glass, Kermit saw the orange fur and large stomach that had taunted his faction, and personally haunted his brain, ever since he had risen to power.
Right There, Right Then, it happened. Face to face with each other for the first time ever in person.
This was the first meeting of Kermit and Garfield.
