Jordan's words still rung in my ear as the ice water rolled off my back, down to my butt cheeks, then to the floor. It was the only sound in the large space apart from Jordan's breathing which sounded as though he was directly on my ear even though he was in the opposite room.
It had been this way ever since my wolf went silent and my other monster took over. My senses had been hyper, and my emotions had been on check except the deep-seated heat I feel whenever I get pissed.
Jordan sounded as though he knew something that I was oblivious about. I mean it's true that I've been a bit off my responsibilities ever since my mate rejected me.
