After what happened the previous day in school, I became unnecessarily cautious. Bale left school pretty early mouthing that he was going to be back but that was the last time I saw him.
I wanted to ask him questions... I had so many things to say to him but when those desperate eyes fell on me as though entrusting his whereabouts, I felt weak in the knees and acted chill about it.
Now look where it had gotten me.
Sixteen whole hours without seeing him.
I kept my eyes on the lookout for Jordan because I knew that wherever Jordan was, there was Bale but just like I had suspected, he was also nowhere to be found. I still hadn't been able to catch a glimpse of him after he dragged Saint away.
I also haven't seen Saint since the previous day.
This felt maddening.
