"Leave us!" ordered Zen, baring his teeth, his words followed by a resounding low growl.
That's when Lithe noticed the retreating shadows as they sled the vicinity, some running, some leaping as they vanished into the forest leaving behind a backlash of wind.
The whole time Lithe thought he had been alone with Zara and Elder Hamil they were being watched by other wolves!
He didn't feel or hear their presence nearby that meant they were on a whole other level from Zara and that was an alarming thought because they hid themselves well.
Lithe had no choice but to believe that meant him harm, as they acted more like foes than welcoming friends.
"Oh my," Lithe whispered.
"I'm sorry Lithe, I keep leaving you alone and then shit like this happens," frustration rang out in Zen's voice and those words fell between fangs and teeth.
