Chereads / A Demon Myself / Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

"Deumu Wann? No, I wasn't clear about it. Do you want me to help investigate her?"

Zein Sanki said with deliberation. The Zein family had connections spanning a wide spectrum of people and, therefore, possessed a better-informed intelligence network than the Le family.

"Alright."

Le Xaan poured himself a cup of wine and drank a sip.

This type of alcohol was not strong, reminiscent of the fruit juice-type drinks on Earth.

"Does Deumu Wann approach you?" Zein Sanki asked.

No sooner had Le Xaan given his reply than a hasty rustle of footsteps sounded from the vaulted arch of the garden.

A teenage girl in a soft yellow dress walked swiftly inside the garden.

She sported an oval-shaped face and a slender waist.

Her collar was half open, revealing the bust bodice inside that strained gently around her ample bosom.

Perhaps a result of her generous bosom, she swayed adorably at each step.

"Elder Brother and Brother Xaan, just as I expected, you are hiding here!"

The moment she laid her eyes on the two of them, the girl puffed her cheeks and rushed over, holding Zein Sanki by his arm.

"Let's go, let's go, bad elder brother, you actually dare to stand me up and let me wait on you for two hours! "

"Yoeri, long time no see, it looks like you are in a bad mood?"

Le Xaan greeted Zein Yoeri with a smile.

"It's all because of Elder Brother. He promised me that he would take me to see an opera in the northern part of the city, but this afternoon the troupe is leaving for another city. If we don't go now, we'll miss our chance."

Zein Yoeri was Zein Sanki's biological sister.

Because of Zein Sanki's friendship with him, Le Xaan was quite familiar with Zein Yoeri.

"Yoeri, it's my fault..."

Zein Sanki apologized with a sour expression.

"I will make it up to you, right now! If you want some stuff, I would buy it for you right now!"

As a son who was in charge of part of his family businesses, the fund Zein Sanki could mobilize was far more than that of Zein Yoeri.

"What do I want? Okay. I want Dark Purplish Brush Pen, three pieces of green ink stone, ten boxes of Crimson Moon body powder, five rice-flour-coated steamed buns every day, a daffodil every day... "

Zein Yoeri gave a list of items without pause, apparently thought up by her before arriving here.

But before she could finish reciting, she realized that Le Xaan was also there and immediately lowered her head with a burning face.

And then Zein Yoeri stomped hard on Zein Sanki's shoe.

"Ouch!"

Zein Sanki let out a loud cry.

Shortly afterwards, Le Xaan stood by and watched as Zein Yoeri led his brother back home by twisting his ear.

Then, Le Xaan sat on the chair as the servants cleaned the table.

"'Dark Shadow' could improve the practitioner's constitution, yet incomplete ... not that suitable for me to practice. Unfortunately... I had no other choice now."

He closed his eyes and focused his mind on his feet, imagining that a stream of Qi arose at that place, then slowly flowed through his legs, and eventually spread throughout his torso.

This was the first level's cultivation method of Dark Shadow.

It was very simple to practice, but demanding of one's talent. According to the manual, it took the practitioner from a dozen days to a month to realistically feel the Qi's flow.

This was not an extended period of time.

But Le Xaan had to reach at least the beginner level in 'Dark Shadow' before he could modify on it with the cheat tool.

Therefore, Le Xaan had to practice by himself during this period of time.

"Young Master."

Qiki walked up and called out lightly.

"What's the matter?"

Qiki cast a glance at Le Xaan. She found her young master absent-minded these few days, but wasn't sure why.

"Young Master, have you been facing any troubles lately?" Qiki asked meticulously. She was as thoughtful and considerate as ever.

"Don't guess randomly. It's my own problem."

Le Xaan shook his head with his eyes closed.

The Deep Blue Cheat Tool's window emerged before him.

Le Xaan glanced at it. In the first row, it read: Black Tiger Blade Style: The Fourth Level.

Yet, 'Dark Shadow' was nowhere.

While Le Xaan uttered 'log out' in his mind, the window disappeared instantly.

Now that he had obtained 'Dark Shadow', he would persist in practicing it recently. As long as he could enter into the first level, all his efforts would pay off.

In the following days, Le Xaan stayed at home and had been practicing 'Dark Shadow' diligently.

Since his achievement in Black Tiger Blade Style had already been exposed, he had no plan to conceal it anymore.

Le Xaan frequently went to inquire Elder Zaner about the blade style's usage tips and tried to gain insights from his fighting experiences. Le Xaan's underlying purpose, however, was to pretend, accidentally revealing that he had grasped the set of blade techniques.

What's more, although he had reached the fourth level in it, he was still in dire need of Elder Zaner's guidance on some details, such as the proper timing of attacks and the overall fighting strategy.

Following this, the story spread throughout the Le Mansion that Le Xaan had stealthily practiced martial arts and now became an accomplished expert.
