Chapter 140 - Chapter 140

"What are their names?"

"Koharu and Homura."

Seeing that Sasuke seemed to be planning to go find them by name, Kazuki stopped him, "You don't have to go find them, I'll take you there now."

Sasuke nodded and was about to follow Kazuki to find the two, but Kazuki placed his hand on Sasuke's shoulder.

In the next moment, the two disappeared and reappeared directly on the streets of Konoha!

Sasuke looked around in confusion, even activating his Sharingan to make sure he wasn't under a genjutsu!

"How did you do that?" Sasuke asked, shocked.

Kazuki pretended to conjure up a cigarette out of thin air, lit it with his finger, exhaled a puff of smoke, and said,

"I recently mastered a new space-time ninjutsu. As long as I mark a location well, I can instantly appear anywhere!"

"And this kind of ninjutsu?"

"Of course, this technique was developed by the Second Hokage and perfected by the Fourth Hokage! So, what do you think? Do you want to learn it?"

"…Are you willing to teach me?" Sasuke asked.

"If you want to learn, I'm willing to teach you, but there's a high probability you won't be able to. This technique requires talent. Do you think you have that talent?"

"I believe I do," Sasuke replied calmly.

Kazuki shrugged and used his summoning technique to call forth a large scroll.

This scroll was clearly the Scroll of Seals he had taken from Konoha years ago!

It contained many of Konoha's forbidden techniques. At the time, Kazuki couldn't master many of them, but now they were of no use to him!

Kazuki opened the scroll, flipped through it, and found the page detailing the Flying Thunder God technique. He copied it onto another scroll and tossed it to Sasuke.

"Take it and learn from it."

Sasuke took the scroll silently, regret filling his heart.

He had misunderstood his brother.

Before, he thought Kazuki was reluctant to seek revenge, which led to a grudge. He had forgotten all the training and guidance Kazuki had given him over the years!

But in just half a day, Kazuki had revealed the truth behind the Uchiha massacre and handed Sasuke the means to exact his revenge!

How could he have misunderstood him?

Kazuki was not just a brother, but his most trusted ally.

"Kazuki… I'm sorry!"

"Hm?"

"I was wrong about you before. I was impulsive. I shouldn't have doubted you."

Kazuki was a bit confused but, seeing the remorse on Sasuke's face, he patted his shoulder and said with a smirk,

"Don't worry about it. Just help me take down Koharu and Homura, and we're good."

"Understood!"

Sasuke nodded firmly, gripping his sword. "Where are they?"

"Hokage Building."

At the Hokage Building, dawn was breaking, illuminating the sky with a soft light as clouds drifted above.

Inside, Koharu and Homura, exhausted from a night spent handling Konoha's affairs, were wrapping up.

"Koharu, let's call it a day. Get some rest. We'll meet Jiraiya at noon and attend Sarutobi's funeral later," Homura said, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Koharu sighed, covering her face. "Yes, let's go."

Just as they stood to leave, an ANBU appeared.

"Councillors, Uchiha Sasuke requests to see you."

"Sasuke Uchiha?" The two exchanged puzzled looks, wondering why Sasuke would seek them out at this hour. Still, they didn't think much of it, given that Sasuke was just a genin.

"Let him in," Koharu said, a hint of irritation in her voice as she sat back down with Homura.

Moments later, Sasuke entered the room, his clothes damp with sweat from recent training.

"What is it, Uchiha Sasuke?" Koharu asked.

Sasuke glanced at the ANBU standing nearby, then back at the two councillors. "I learned a truth today, and I want to confirm its authenticity with you."

"A truth? What truth?"

It had been so long that neither of the councillors thought Sasuke would know anything about the Uchiha massacre. They had been in power for so long that they no longer saw Sasuke as a threat.

"Who ordered the Uchiha massacre?" Sasuke asked, his voice sharp, a killing intent radiating from him.

The ANBU next to him sensed something was wrong and prepared to act, but before he could move, Sasuke had already drawn his sword.

Uchiha Style: Blazing Sword!

The ANBU barely had time to react before his head was severed from his body.

Sasuke sheathed his sword, turning to the stunned advisors. "I'll find the truth in your minds. As for your lies, I won't believe them!"

The two councillors had never imagined Sasuke would be so bold as to strike within the Hokage Building!

"Do you have any idea what you've done?!" Koharu shrieked. "You're hopeless now! Your future is ruined!"

Homura, panicking, began forming seals to defend himself, but his hands were severed by a blade of wind before he could finish.

"Tsk, tsk. You've been sitting in your high positions for too long," came a voice from the shadows.

The councillors turned to see Kazuki stepping out of the darkness.

"Kazuki?! Why are you here?"

"Don't bother shouting," Kazuki smirked. "While you were busy scolding Sasuke, I already took care of all your guards. No one is coming to save you now."

"Why are you doing this?" Homura cried, clutching his bleeding hand. "Konoha has treated you well!"

Kazuki laughed. "Why? It's simple. Your deaths are more beneficial to me than your lives. It's just business."

He grinned as he raised his blade.
