Rune struggled with Iva's weight on his shoulder; he had been walking without stopping since the previous night. He wanted to leave before Kael returned, and even when Kael did return, they'd be long gone, and Iva would finally understand the decision he had made. Though exhausted and tired, he continued walking until he got to an oak tree. Tired and drained, he decided to rest his back but noticed a movement.
"Who is there?" Rune asked, holding Iva's back. He turned around to see who had joined them.
Ryver stepped out of the shadows with his arms crossed over his chest. "Look what we have here. Are you stealing your sister away right now?"
Rune groaned. "I knew I didn't like you."
"The feeling is mutual," Ryver nodded with a condescending smirk.
Feeling exasperated and exhausted, Rune asked, "How did you find us?"
