The beginning of Kael's memory...So many Moons ago...
The splatter of heavy rainfall in the castle of Morville was a contrast to the vile ritual taking place inside the royal court. Six men stood in their full regalia, forming a circle, and in the middle was a figure wrapped in white clothes.
"Bring forth the torch," the first man spoke with a calm voice, his eyes not leaving the cauldron burning hot.
Heavy rain splattered on the wet ground, mixing with the black sand. A family of five was pushed outside into the rain. Dark clouds engulfed the entire kingdom as everyone waited for the fate of that family.
"We have to save our kingdom. The lives of five to save a thousand more. This war shall be our last, and we shall remember the lives of those who fought for us," the man said loudly, pulling a dagger from its sheath. "And another life to cleanse the death we are about to create."
