Griselda pushed through the tall grasses in her path. She had walked a long distance and was nearing the borders of Stormont to the next kingdom. The woman breathed heavily, but she didn't stop until she arrived at the end of the road. There, she found a small house standing alone on what looked like an island. Griselda finally halted, using the back of her hand to wipe the beads of sweat from her weary face.
"Finally," she said between heavy breaths. She took another step forward, but twig-like creepers curled around her feet, pulling her back. Griselda raised her hand to attack but then brought it down. She bent and gently removed the creepers from her leg before continuing to walk. When she reached the house, she knocked once on the door, then used her fingers to tap on the door frame as if writing a code.
Griselda did this twice before hearing footsteps from inside, signaling someone's approach. The older woman stepped back and waited for the door to open.
