Early the next morning in Morville Castle, Jacquelyn stirred in bed. She opened her eyes, then closed them. After a few seconds, she opened them again and sat up, rubbing the remaining sleep from her eyes. The events of the previous day were still fresh in her mind; kissing Kael, sitting with him, and watching the sunset together. Jacquelyn didn't know when she'd have such a moment with him again, so she decided to cherish it forever.
It was amazing, the first time she had heard Kael talk for so long without taunting or teasing her. Jacquelyn remembered their little secret, a secret she now shared only with Kael. Pushing her feet down from the bed, Jacquelyn went to the bathroom to wash her face. While she was rinsing her mouth, she heard the door to her room open.
"Grisie?" Jacquelyn called while washing her face and then picking up a dry towel to clean it.
"Not Grisie, it's me, Iva," Iva called out from outside the room. "Breakfast is ready."
