The whole night, Jacquelyn rolled on the bed, thinking of the conversation she had with Ballister. The most shocking of all events was Ballister being a dormouse, but that ship of shock had sailed. Jacquelyn's thoughts were occupied with one person: Kael. Was Kael really as kind and gentle as the boy had said? And what about asking him how he felt about her? Was that the best option for her?
"Of course!" Jacquelyn sat up on the bed, using the pillow to support her head. If she wanted to know her position in the castle, then she needed to know what she meant to Kael.
