Jacquelyn was still giggling to herself, thinking about it, when Ballister walked back into the room. She cleared her throat and adjusted herself in the chair. No matter how close she was with Ballister, the boy was still loyal to his master. She couldn't risk telling him that she had imagined his great and awesome master running around as a ferret or hamster looking for nuts. Jacquelyn couldn't help but snort when she thought of it again.
"Is everything alright?" Ballister asked, eyeing the princess suspiciously. While he was in the kitchen, he'd heard some noise. Thinking the princess was crying, he went to sit close to her. "It's okay, I know it must be hard, leaving your family behind."
Jacquelyn, who had her face covered with her hand, peeked through the holes her fingers made. Wondering what the boy was talking about, she stayed calm and decided to listen to him. At least he didn't find out what she was thinking about.
