Kael had been sitting beside Jacquelyn's bed, watching the girl sleep peacefully. His eyes moved down to her small face, unable to hold back. His fingers traced her features, and she hummed in approval, leaning closer to his touch. She was a beauty to behold. Her small, curvy lips, slightly parted, made Kael remember the kiss they'd shared. And her eyes, though closed, were like crescent moons. The girl was just meant for him.
As morning came, Kael left the room through the window. He returned to the library in search of anything he could find relating to the mark.
