Chapter 300 - Queen Anne

Jacquelyn stopped running after some time because she noticed her mother was falling behind. She had almost forgotten the woman was pregnant.

"Goodness!" Jacquelyn exclaimed, covering her mouth with her hand. "I'm sorry... I almost forgot."

Anne raised her face and waved at the young woman. "It's okay. I'll feel better after a little rest," she breathed in heavily.

"I think my child enjoys it the most," the woman chuckled, rubbing her stomach gently. When she almost tripped and fell back, Jacquelyn quickly caught her by the shoulder.

"Maybe we ran a little too hard," Anne smiled, relaxing against Jacquelyn's body to catch her breath.

Jacquelyn stiffened when her mother leaned on her. She was scared the woman would hear how fast her heart was beating and realize that she was her daughter. Jacquelyn didn't know if it worked that way, but that was what her mind wanted her to believe.
