In her subconscious, Jacquelyn could hear these loud, ear-piercing shrieks, and it was from that day at the oak tree when Doom was being trapped forever. And when she turned, she saw Chaos with a hollow in his chest.
"No!" Jacquelyn jerked up, sweat streaking down the side of her face. Her body trembled with fear as she grasped her chest, feeling her heart beat frantically against it.
Jacquelyn was lost in this turmoil when cold yet comforting arms wrapped her into a warm hug.
"I'm here," Kael whispered in her ear while patting her hair gently. "Breathe."
Jacquelyn melted into Kael's arms, breathing in slowly until she was calm. She remembered what had happened before she passed out, pulling back from the hug so she could tell Kael.
"Husband, I saw Chaos; he had his heart rip-" Jacquelyn paused. Right there in the room with them was Chaos and every other member of the new family he had made.
