Jacquelyn stepped out of the room with Kael behind her. She watched as her sister left the castle gates. Jacquelyn didn't know why, but she wasn't feeling any emotions, if not worry. Yes, she was worried; it seemed Meredith had something more she wanted to say.
"Do you think my father is doing alright? She said 'he wanted me to have this'... like he's no more," Jacquelyn pointed out, feeling uneasy.
Kael cleared his throat, knowing that there were chances the foolish king was dead since he had clearly mixed up his antidote. Even if he was alive, he was probably suffering worse than death.
"Do you want him to be alive?" Kael asked. "You see, love, he's human, and his life is fragile. So we can't erase the fact that he may or may not be alive."
Jacquelyn nodded; Kael was right. Her father was human after all.
"Also, dead or alive, we both know he is of no use to you," Kael spoke bluntly without trying to coat his words.
