Jacquelyn could feel everyone's eyes on her, and Kael's intense gaze was far more piercing. If they were having a child, wasn't she supposed to let Kael know first? How was it even possible when they had only consummated their marriage a night ago?
Biting her lower lip, Jacquelyn's grip on her dress tightened. She had just wanted the Valois brothers to relax a bit. If Kael and Rune fought because of her, it would only break her heart. The only way she thought she could break the tension was with a big announcement or so she thought, because now she had made things worse with no comeback in mind.
Jacquelyn, just bite your tongue and die! she cussed herself internally, praying for everyone to ignore her and act like they heard nothing. But those were just wishful thoughts. The room was eerily silent after her announcement. Though she could feel Kael's gaze, she couldn't bring herself to look at him.
