Chapter 25 - Coachwoman

Ballister pulled up in a carriage that was unlike the royal one Jacquelyn had arrived in. This one was ordinary, yet something about the quality of the wood made it look elegant. Without waiting for anyone, Kael walked inside the carriage, crossing his legs as he reclined on the plush couch.

Jacquelyn looked around, wondering who would be driving the carriage since Ballister appeared to be young. She was worried. "Who is going to be driving the carriage?" she asked innocently.

Ballister pointed to his chest, ready to speak, but Kael beat him to it, a hint of a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "Who? You're already dressed for it. I see you'll make a good coachman... or woman? It doesn't matter now. Earn your keep by working."

Jacquelyn's eyes moved from Ballister and settled on Kael. "M-me?" she whispered, but Kael heard her and nodded in reply. "B-but I am a..." her voice trailed off.
