Jacquelyn tried to move her hands, but it felt like they were bound by some unseen force. She was conscious, yet she had no willpower of her own. It felt like she had been trapped in a familiar land. Her surroundings were filled with suffocating darkness.
When she tried to open her mouth to scream, it was as though something had sealed her lips shut. It was like one of those really scary nightmares where you want to scream and call for help, but you can't because your voice is no longer there. She tried to stand up and run, or maybe hop, as her legs felt glued together but it was all in vain.
