Sitting on the roof with his legs crossed, Kael watched Jacquelyn, who was talking with her friend. Every time she clapped her hands together, she would inhale deeply and flip her auburn hair to the back, leaving it to bounce behind her. Then when she stretched her hands forward to comfort Iva, her blue eyes sparkled brightly with a sweet smile on her heart-shaped lips. It made Kael happy to see the girl smile despite everything happening around her.
The girl was capable of switching from hot to cold, from fear to happiness. And she knew just how to spread joy to everyone around her. Kael hummed softly, crossing his leg over; it hadn't even been up to a full moon cycle since the girl walked into his life, and he already couldn't imagine a day without her.
Sensing someone's presence, Kael's lips curled into a small smile. "Isn't she beautiful?"
