Chapter 107 - Scolded

Jacquelyn slipped slowly until she fell off the bed. When her body touched the cold, hard floor, she groaned, rubbing her forehead where a headache threatened to split her head apart. She lay on the floor with her eyes open, her hand still rubbing her forehead.

Last night had been a lot for her to take in. From running away from Morville Castle to meeting Iva and following her to the Pleasure District. Jacquelyn groaned, rolling on the floor as she remembered the wine she had drunk, which had made her mind fuzzy.

"Liquor is my mortal enemy," Jacquelyn announced to herself, rubbing her stomach, where she felt sick. "I should stay away from my enemy, Lyn… no more wine," she whispered, rolling on the floor as she tried to stand up.

Jacquelyn stood up and noticed her gown was hanging slightly above her knees. As she tried to pull it down, she noticed two pairs of black polished shoes standing not far from where she was. Slowly, she raised her face.
