Jiang Bei boarded the plane and, guided by a flight attendant, took her seat. The adjacent seat was still empty. She organized her carry-on belongings and began to put on headphones to listen to music. She had talked with her parents until late the previous night and had been busy all morning. Now, drowsiness was enveloping her, and all she wanted to do was sleep.
Even with her headphones on, she could still hear the sounds of the person next to her. Someone took the seat beside her, left after a short while, and then returned a few seconds later. Jiang Bei, with her eyes closed, paid it no mind.
