When Su Mu awoke, her head throbbed as if it were about to explode at any moment. She struggled to her feet from the bed and then realized that every part of her body seemed to have been torn apart and reassembled. Memories gradually returned, and she thought of the last moments she had spent with Su Shiyue, which were her final recollections. Yet, what happened afterwards she did not know.
The marks and sensations on her body were telling Su Mu that she had been with a man in this room.
Her first thought was of Fu Shinian. She wondered if he knew she had gone missing or rather if he already knew what had happened to her. Su Shiyue had gone to great lengths to betray her, wasn't her goal to drive a wedge between herself and Fu Shinian?
