Zhou Lin cupped her cheeks and looked into her eyes, "I'm sorry, I was impatient."
He held her fingers and drank the sobering-up soup, then led her upstairs, "I'm going to the study."
"Okay," Cheng Zhiwei replied and headed to the master bedroom.
Cheng Zhiwei read until eleven o'clock and then fell asleep. In a daze, she felt the bed shift slightly followed by a warm body pressing close, pulling her into the embrace behind her.
Her body tensed, Cheng Zhiwei fought the urge to escape.
Zhou Lin's hoarse voice reached her ear, "Don't be afraid, I won't touch you."
This was a promise, and Cheng Zhiwei's stiff body slowly relaxed, her head nuzzling into the pillow, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Zhou Lin tightened his arm slightly, thinking about how she had liked him for so long, and even if she forgot, the emotions etched in her bones would sprout again.
