Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Want to Eat Daddy's Cooking

Jiang Mobai thought to himself, then turned and ran to the wardrobe to find a small shirt he never wore and changed into it.

Next, he pulled open the room door and ran out.

"Young Master! Steward Zheng said for you to stay in your room, please go back..."

A servant who was busy in the hallway jumped in fright when they saw him run out.

Jiang Mobai blinked his eyes and deliberately flashed his signature smile as he strode over.

"Sister, I have a question to ask you. If you answer me, I'll go back to my room obediently, okay?" He asked with his big eyes blinking, making it hard to refuse.

Seeing that he seemed obedient, the servant let out a sigh of relief and quickly nodded.

Mobai thought for two seconds before asking, "Why did so many people go out to look for me just now? I saw everyone rushing out..."

Not knowing if his question would give anything away, he looked nervously at the person in front of him.

Then he heard the servant answer, "Because just now, a strange woman, while the Young Master was sleeping, took you away. We didn't understand what was going on, so we went out to look for you. Now that the Young Master is back, it's good."

Mobai's eyes widened slightly, and his little brain began to work overtime.

While sleeping?

It must have been Mommy who took the real Yanbao!

"Young Master?" Seeing him standing silently, the servant tentatively asked.

Mobai snapped back to reality and flashed an angelic smile once more, "It's nothing, Sister. Go ahead with your work. I want to go find Daddy."

Leaving that remark behind, he turned and walked in the direction of the stairs.

Who would have thought that the idol he had long admired was actually his own biological Daddy!

Isn't that too amazing?

Why didn't Mommy tell him?

Could it be that she had an argument with Daddy?

As Mobai thought this, he arrived at the door of the study.

He stood outside, a hesitant look on his little face.

Should he just tell Daddy that he's not Yanbao...

He tentatively reached out his hand and placed it on the doorknob.

The next second, however, he heard voices coming from inside.

"Young Master, about Miss Jiang, what are you planning to do..." Uncle Zheng's voice sounded cautious.

Li Beijue's expression was dark as he asked with a cold face, "Have you found her whereabouts?"

Uncle Zheng hurriedly answered, "Not yet."

Li Beijue snorted coldly.

The air fell into silence.

Mobai stood at the door, not even daring to breathe heavily, his little face tense.

Who is Daddy looking for?

Mommy?

As he pondered, he heard voices coming from the study again.

Only the sound was much lower this time.

Mobai, not daring to make a sound, frustratedly pressed his ear closer to the door.

Immediately after, he heard Li Beijue say sternly, "Daring to do this right under my nose... Jiang Baobao, that foolish woman, must pay the price!"

Li Beijue's voice carried an edge of ruthlessness that gave Mobai a huge start.

He instinctively took a step back, staring at the room door in shock.

Why would Daddy talk about Mommy like that?

Was it because he bullied Mommy, and that's why Mommy took him and his sister away?

Mobai didn't want to listen anymore, turned, and walked away. Because of what he just heard, his fondness for Li Beijue dropped dramatically.

He dashed back to Yanbao's room and slammed the door shut.

His little chest heaved with anger, experiencing the rollercoaster of life in just a short moment.

To think he once idolized Daddy!

He would never like him again!

Mommy must have been bullied by Daddy too, and that's why she took Yanbao and left!

Daddy even said he would make Mommy pay the price!

Mobai pouted his little mouth, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

He wouldn't let off anyone who dared to bully Mommy!

It wasn't certain who would pay the price first!

Hmph!

He then glanced at the time and familiarized himself with the bedroom environment, unhurried.

Sure enough, by noon, there were footsteps outside the door.

Steward Zheng, carrying a tray of food, pushed open the door to find Mobai obediently seated at the table. He walked in, relieved.

"Little young master, it's time for lunch, and it's all your favorite,"

Jiang Mobai, who was studying the computer on the table, deliberately turned his head away without expression upon hearing this.

He glanced at the dishes on the tray, swallowing involuntarily.

Braised ribs, cashew shrimp, corn with pine nuts... all his favorites!

Thinking this, he blinked, forcibly suppressing the feeling of hunger.

"I don't like these,"

Mobai said coldly, pushing the tray aside.

Steward Zheng was somewhat helpless: "Little young master, these are all your usual favorites. Even if you're mad at your dad, you shouldn't joke with your health..."

Nothing irked Mobai more than nagging in his ear. He quickly said, "Then change it to something else, I don't want these."

"Alright, alright, I'll have someone change it right away. What would you like to eat, little young master?" Zheng answered quickly.

"Whatever," Jiang Mobai threw out an exasperating response.

Steward Zheng paused, his face showing difficulty, but he didn't say much and, after a moment of thought, turned around and left.

Before long, several different dishes were brought back in.

Mobai, smelling the fragrance, lowered his eyes for a glance.

Steamed egg with shrimp... Sour soup beef... still his favorites!

Mobai pursed his lips slightly, feeling the emptiness in his stomach...

No, he must hold on!

With that thought, he still pushed the tray further away.

Without a word, Steward Zheng turned and left.

It wasn't until the third time that Jiang Mobai pushed away the food brought to him.

He then asked with a pained expression, "Little young master, why don't you just tell me what you want to eat, and I'll have it made again."

That was exactly what Jiang Mobai was waiting for.

Pretending to contemplate for two seconds, he spoke with great reluctance, "I don't want to trouble Uncle Zheng, but if Daddy cooks for me himself, then I'll eat!"

Upon hearing this, Steward Zheng nearly stumbled.

The little young master wants to eat what his father cooks?

Steward Zheng had watched Beijue grow up since he was young; how would he know how to cook?

Uncle Zheng opened his mouth, wanting to decline on behalf of Li Beijue.

But facing those pure, childlike eyes, he found himself unable to speak the words.

He could only sigh and leave.

"Not eating anything but the food I make?" In the study, Li Beijue was equally incredulous.

Steward Zheng nodded helplessly, "Yes, little young master said if you cook, he will eat. So, do you think...Should I make someone go and..."

"No need," Li Beijue said with a hand to his forehead, looking somewhat helpless.

Yanbao had been raised by nannies and servants since he was a baby.

Li Beijue had never even made a bottle of formula.

After thinking for a moment, he stood up.

"I'll give it a try, let the kitchen get ready," he left these words behind as he headed to the kitchen downstairs.

After communicating with the chefs, Li Beijue decided to cook the simplest dish—a bowl of noodles.

Standing before the stove, he unexpectedly felt a trace of nervousness.

Was Yanbao making this request because he wasn't caring enough for him usually?

Was it that he hadn't been a good enough father?
