When Mu Shaoze answered An Yan's call, he had just returned Zhou Ziqiao to her room, intent on getting her a glass of warm water.
He was walking along the hallway towards the staircase, and when he reached the first step, the words from An Yan made him stop in his tracks.
His fingers tightened around the phone, his face darkening like the night.
His voice carried a hint of indifference, "I know."
After hanging up, he unblocked He Xiyue's number and gave her a call.
She answered quickly, her voice barely concealing her excitement and glee, "Shaoze, you've taken me off the blacklist?"
"You hired someone to hit Ziqiao."
His tone was assertive, void of any doubt.
He Xiyue immediately denied it, "No, how could I?"
" He Xiyue, I'm officially notifying you now. If you pull another stunt, I will make your life a living hell."
Mu Shaoze didn't wait for her to argue further and hung up. He then called Bi Chong, "Achong, I need a favor from you."
