Lin Guoping dropped his safety helmet, tearing off his white gloves that had already worn through in several places.
Receiving the call from the school left him completely bewildered; he had to ask several times over the phone to make sure it was indeed Lin Yan.
Panicked and flustered, Lin Guoping hurried home from the construction site. Instead of going straight to school, he wanted to discuss the situation with Zhou Ping first.
Zhou Ping looked at the clock, noting it was still early, and wiped her hands with her apron.
"You're home early. The day's work is done at the construction site already?"
Lin Guoping hung his head in sorrow, sighing heavily.
"Lin Yan got into trouble. The school called to say she had an argument with a girl and pushed her down the stairs. The girl was taken to the hospital."
Zhou Ping hurriedly asked, "Who's in the hospital then? Was Lin Yan pushed, or did she push someone?"
