"You're finally back." Lin Yan ran to the door and flung herself into Lu Chenyuan's arms as soon as she saw him.
Lu Chenyuan's arms wrapped around her waist, "Would you have let me go if I hadn't come back? Have you counted how many messages you've sent me from last night till now?"
There was a hint of impatient reprimand in Lu Chenyuan's tone.
Lin Yan asked, "How many did you read?"
Lu Chenyuan did not answer. Lin Yan concealed her disappointment, pressing her lips tightly and resting her head against Lu Chenyuan's chest. "I apologize for lying to you that night and running downstairs on my own. Can you forgive me just this once? I promise I won't do it again."
Lin Yan raised her hand as if taking an oath, wrapped her arms around Lu Chenyuan's neck, and her eyes, soft and weak, brimmed with tears.
Lu Chenyuan found it hardest to resist Lin Yan when she looked so soft, so pitifully adorable that any anger he felt was extinguished.
