050. Dominion Airspace
As long as his health dropped by fifty percent, stacking all his Omega Energy, along with the damage bonuses provided by his specializations, mutations, and Dominion Form, the damage would be immense.
He had damage bonuses from [Desperate Counterattack], [Rogue Frenzy], and [Senior Combat-Type NPC]. If he could land a critical hit, the damage would double.
A fully-formed [Mutant] in Dominion Form had the most impressive burst damage on paper among all classes in the early stages. Combined with the Omega Energy of [Natural Ignition], it provided two extremely powerful effects:
First, if the target was a living creature, it would be inflicted with a 'burn' state, taking spell damage equal to 7% of their maximum health per second, along with a slowing effect based on their [Willpower] attribute.
Although the grand duke, being a [Shaman], likely had much higher Willpower than anticipated, percentage-based spell damage was still terrifying.
Second, if the target was in a state of combustion, it would deal true damage to undead and carbon-based lifeforms.
Interestingly, [Eerie]-type [Shamans] in their Take Action form were considered 'undead.'
Bio King Kong, with its vast health and Omega Energy protection, wouldn't typically fall into this trap, but Duke Gamos was different. A single mistake could lead to his instant death at Li Aozi's hands.
Absolute damage overflow gave Li Aozi this confidence.
Compared to Bio King Kong, the grand duke was indeed more terrifying and mature, but unlike Bio King Kong, his physical body was extremely frail, and his brain, long deprived of oxygen, reacted slowly.
In this state, Li Aozi was confident he could kill him with one strike.
The real problem was... he couldn't hit him.
Li Aozi threw out a series of fireballs, but they were all blocked by the evil spirits. He didn't even have time to click his tongue in frustration as he spun out dozens of sharp-angled maneuvers in the lower atmosphere.
Even as he twisted and rolled freely in the air, with his extreme acceleration, just adjusting the direction of gravity was akin to continuously performing a freefall. But due to air resistance, he could only push his speed to just under seven Mach.
Omega Energy was a mysterious supernatural force. Since ancient times, people knew rain fell from the sky, but it took thousands of years before anyone could explain why raindrops didn't kill people when they fell.
Understanding and harnessing the potential of Omega Energy was fundamentally like explaining 'why raindrops don't kill people.' When you truly grasp the principles of your Omega Energy and can explain them, the entire real world will be yours to command.
His blade cut through the sky, trailing flames as it wove freely through the swarm of evil spirits like a meteor, endlessly seeking an opportunity under the stormy skies of Calamity, where blizzards and sandstorms raged.
To enhance his mobility and damage output, Li Aozi deliberately lowered his health to below half. Sometimes, he would intentionally take hits to prevent his health from rising, ensuring the effects of [Desperate Counterattack] remained active.
Li Aozi's preemptive shutdown of his protective barrier reduced the flying pressure from Calamity's influence on Grant's air force, but the relentless pursuit by the sea of evil spirits was extremely annoying. He couldn't eliminate the spirits that had accumulated over nearly three hundred years.
Even in a small country like Grant, the average number of deaths per year was at least tens of thousands. Even accounting for the consumption by feeding the evil spirits and the natural expenditure of spiritual energy, there would still be tens of thousands left after three hundred years.
Li Aozi turned his head and unleashed a blazing slash, clearing a path. He immediately charged in, tearing off a tentacle with his left hand, which was instantly straightened by gravity, transforming into a spear he hurled at the grand duke!
———— Zing!
The flame-wrapped spear, like a meteor, shot through the air and struck the grand duke's body. The tentacle burned away, while the flames instantly dispersed the evil spirits at the point of impact.
But the purpose of this strike wasn't simply to inflict burns; the life-draining effect of [Severed Lifeforce] was immediately applied to the grand duke, who showed slight displeasure and summoned more evil spirits to attack the mortals on the ground.
"Fall back! Run!"
Xislong and the others had been providing artillery support, but seeing the spirits charging at their own people, they knew they couldn't stay. Faced with so many spiritual entities, which ordinary people had no way of dealing with, they had no choice but to flee as quickly as possible. Conventional weapons couldn't hit spirits; only a fool would stand still and wait to die.
Meanwhile, Alexia, on the ground, seized the opportunity. As the grand duke's left heel lifted off the ground, she rushed forward like a heavy truck, stomping through the wave of wandering spirits. As she swung her scythe to reap the ghosts, her gaze remained fixed on the giant in front of her, and she muttered softly:
"Prosecute!"
The command took effect immediately, causing Duke Gamos to hesitate slightly. In Alexia's eyes, his mind and intentions were laid bare like an open door.
'Step forward with the left foot at two o'clock, rotate the three right arms, and strike at the woman on the ground.'
Alexia immediately turned and accelerated. The grand duke's foot came crashing down, bringing with it a blast of lightning. The violent shockwave swept the ground, and Alexia used the momentum to launch herself into the air, landing on the grand duke's outstretched arm. She continued to run, her leg armor extending blades. Any ghost that saw her disintegrated in agony, screaming as they retreated.
'Extinguish the flames, and use the main left hand to attack that woman.'
The grand duke's eyes shifted as he noticed Alexia climbing up his arm, leaving a trail of wounds as she defied gravity to climb higher. He smacked his chest to extinguish the flames lit by Li Aozi and raised his left hand to smash down on Alexia.
Thud!
Alexia was prepared. She spread her arms and leaped, landing on the grand duke's grasping hand, using the momentum to jump again. Her arm armor morphed into a hammer, which she brought down on the grand duke's face!
A bolt of lightning slashed down from the sky, striking Alexia instantly. The powerful current coursed through her body, causing her to seize up. Her heart stopped, the translator in her ear short-circuited and exploded, her eardrums ruptured, bleeding profusely. Her muscles convulsed from the electric shock, her entire body stiffened, and her skin was severely burned. Unable to maintain her form, she plummeted toward the ground.
Crackle—Boom, boom, boom
The thunder roared, and with it came the delayed result of the Prosecute command:
'Summon lightning.'
Natural lightning can reach up to a billion volts, with a current of at least 20,000 amperes, and sometimes even 300,000. For a mortal, it is deadly; even for an extraordinary being, there's a high chance of being killed outright.
Alexia fell rapidly from the sky. The grand duke reached out a hand to catch her, and in that fleeting moment, her teeth chattered, and she squeezed out a faint, mosquito-like word from her throat:
"…Indict…"
In the next moment, the sky lit up with a golden glow.
