Chapter 67 - Insufficient ability, Unable to fulfill

After a moment of contemplation, Talot looked over at Gine and Salari again.

Seeing Gine nod, Talot gathered his thoughts and asked, "This question might be quite complicated, as it's beyond the range of Earth. I want to know, in a distant galaxy, are two Saiyans still alive? Their names are Bardock and Raditz."

As the question was asked, Gine and Salari's hearts tensed, and Kami and Popo also perked up their ears.

Upon hearing the question, Shenron remained calm, as if this question wasn't too outrageous.

Time passed, but Shenron didn't answer right away, which caused everyone present to feel nervous.

If Shenron couldn't answer, it would mean that even if they made the wish, it wouldn't be able to fulfill it.

"What's the answer, Shenron?" Talot couldn't help but ask.

Shenron lowered his head and spoke to Talot, "The Saiyans you speak of—are they from the fighting race that once conquered Planet Plant and renamed it Planet Vegeta?"

Hearing Shenron's response, Talot instinctively nodded. "Yes, it seems you should be able to answer my question."

Shenron nodded and said, "I've located one of the two Saiyans you're asking about. His name is Raditz, and he is still alive in this world. Moreover, there are four other Saiyans alive with him."

Upon hearing this, Talot was a bit surprised. Besides Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa, there were two more surviving Saiyans.

Perhaps, those two Saiyans would die in battle soon.

Upon hearing this, Gine was overwhelmed with emotion, her eyes brimming with tears.

At least she had confirmation that her eldest son was still alive and that there were four other Saiyans with him.

However, Shenron's next words made Gine feel as though she had fallen into an icy abyss.

"As for the other Saiyan you asked about, Bardock, my powers are limited. All I can confirm is that he is still alive, but I cannot track his whereabouts. It's as though he has completely vanished from this world," Shenron said.

"You mean Bardock is alive just like Raditz, but you cannot confirm Bardock's exact situation, only that he's still alive?" Talot followed up.

This had been the question troubling Talot for a long time, and now, it seemed he had an answer.

The Bardock from his world must have, as in that side story, crossed time during the explosion of the planet and gone back to the past, to Planet Plant.

So, even Shenron couldn't track him.

Perhaps the higher-level Eternal Dragon, Porunga, could do it, but current Earth's Eternal Dragon was too weak.

Shenron nodded, acknowledging that he had answered Talot's question.

Gine, unable to contain herself, wanted to know more, so she quickly asked, "Shenron, can you tell me more details about Bardock's situation? Or at least, can you tell me where he was when the planet exploded?"

This follow-up question showed Gine's cleverness.

Knowing Bardock's location before the explosion of Planet Vegeta would confirm whether or not he was affected by the explosion.

But the more one does not hope for something, the more it will come

"Bardock's last known trace was on Planet Vegeta. However, after the explosion of Planet Vegeta, an unusual force prevented me from continuing my search," Shenron answered once again.

"Do you have the power to bring Bardock back? My wish is to have Bardock by my side." Gine's wish came out, catching Talot off guard.

However, he wouldn't stop it, as the decision had already been made long ago.

However, given the current situation, Shenron can't even track Bardock, let alone bring him back.

"I'm sorry but my powers are limited. I can only confirm that he is alive…..As for bringing him here, that's beyond my capabilities, so please make another wish," Shenron responded.

The wish being impossible to grant made Gine feel even more disappointed. "So, it's true? Even if the wish can be granted, this one can't."

Seeing Gine like this, Salari supported her by holding her arm, while Talot tried to comfort her. "Even though Shenron can't make it happen, at least we now know that Uncle Bardock is still alive. Maybe someday in the future, Uncle Bardock will find his way to Earth on his own."

"Will that really happen?" Gine was doubtful, but she had no other options.

"It will! For sure! As long as he's strong enough!" Talot reassured her.

Hearing those words, Gine took a deep breath, quickly stabilizing her emotions, and then asked, "Then, can you tell me the news about Kakarot?"

Before Shenron could respond, Talot quickly interrupted, "You don't need to answer that, Shenron."

By stopping Shenron from answering, they can save some of the remaining power for more important questions.

Talot then turned to a surprised Gine and explained, "Aunt Gine, I haven't had the chance to tell you about Kakarot yet. While searching for the Dragon Balls, I found him by accident. Since the situation is a bit special, I'll explain everything after we make our wish."

"Really? You found Kakarot?!" Gine's emotions surged once more.

Talot nodded and said no more.

Kami, who had been standing nearby, seemed like he wanted to say something but in the end, he decided against it.

"Now, state thy wish. If you have none, I will leave," Shenron said, eager to wrap things up after being questioned for so long.

Although Shenron hadn't emerged from the Dragon Balls in many years, he was already impatient to "clock out" of work.

Hearing this, Talot had already decided on his wish.

Although doing this will change everything, he has made up his mind and doesn't care anymore.

"Shenron, since you can't bring Bardock back, can you bring Raditz to Earth?"

As soon as he said this, Gine and Salari simultaneously focused their attention again.

They had been so consumed by Bardock's situation that they had completely overlooked Raditz.

Bringing Raditz back was something Gine had been dreaming of day and night.

After hearing Talot's wish, Shenron fell silent once more.

After a while, Shenron said, "I'm sorry, but this wish is also beyond my ability. I can't fulfill it."

Shenron's response caught Talot off guard.

Was Earth's Shenron really this weak?

Although Talot knew that Shenron couldn't compare to Porunga, this period's Shenron* had still revived all the Namekians killed by Frieza. [TN: *Talking about before Shenron was upgraded by Dende.]

Bringing one person shouldn't be that difficult.
