Chapter 49 - Bulma and Tights

Bulma

A nearly perfect woman in the original work.

Beautiful, great figure, rich, incredibly intelligent and flawless.

Except for being a bit of a flirt, narcissist and bold in the beginning, you can't really find any flaws.

In fact, it can also be attributed to Bulma being overly youthful and rebellious when she was younger. Just like everyone goes through such a phase, Bulma is no exception.

"Brother Talot, why have you been staring at this place for so long? Is there something special about it?" Salari noticed Talot acting strangely and asked.

While the round building in front of them looked unusual compared to others, there didn't seem to be anything particularly special about it.

Hearing Salari's question, Gine also turned to look curiously at Talot.

Talot didn't show any abnormality as he turned around, having already prepared the excuse in his mind. "While we were walking through the streets, I overheard quite a few people talking about this thing called the Hoi-Poi Capsule, and how brilliant Dr. Brief, the inventor, is. I wonder if this Dr. Brief has the ability to make something I need?"

With that one sentence, he revealed his thoughts and indirectly informed Gine and Salari of his intentions.

Gine blinked in surprise and asked, puzzled, "Talot, is there something you need Earth's scientist to make? Although Earth's technology seems pretty advanced, they can't even leave their planet for interstellar travel yet."

Gine had a point. If Talot didn't already know of Dr. Brief's capabilities, he might have also doubted whether he could do it.

Just as Talot was about to answer Gine's question, the door in front of them suddenly opened.

Two girls, one older and one younger, came running out, entering their view.

The younger, blue-haired girl with pigtails wasn't paying attention and accidentally bumped into Talot.

Talot instinctively caught the little girl, preventing her from bouncing off and falling to the ground.

[Bulma... and Tights?]Talot instantly recognized the two girls.

Especially Dr. Brief's eldest daughter, Tights, with her long blonde hair and energetic demeanor, which was quite attractive.

Recalling the original work, Tights once revealed her age—when Bulma was five years old, she was sixteen.

[Tights is still on Earth, which means her part of the story hasn't begun yet]Talot thought, remembering the events of the original work's side story.

Since Tights was still on Earth, that meant Galactic Patrolman Jaco hadn't arrived on Earth yet.

Thinking about Jaco, Talot felt a headache coming on—he was definitely someone he had overlooked.

The Galactic Patrol officially entered the main story in the late "Dragon Ball Super" era.

"Who are you, big brother?" Suddenly, Bulma, still in Talot's arms, spoke up.

Hearing her voice, Talot let go of her.

Before he could respond, Tights quickly pulled Bulma into her arms and apologized, "I'm so sorry. We ran out so suddenly and startled you."

"It's no problem, but next time, be more careful. The streets are full of cars, and something bad could happen if you're not careful," Talot said with a smile.

He acted very naturally, without any pretense. It was common sense, after all, so his advice was reasonable.

Tights nodded in agreement, thanking him before adding, "I couldn't help but notice you were standing in front of my house. Is there something we can help you with?"

Tights, nearly an adult and quite smart, quickly figured out that Talot and his companions had come for a reason.

With her question, Talot took the opportunity to introduce himself, along with Gine and Salari.

Then, he mentioned his desire to ask Dr. Brief to create something.

Upon learning their identities and intentions, Tights politely said, "Since you're here to see my father, please follow me inside. He happens to be home right now."

"Thank you for the trouble," Talot said, surprised at how smoothly things were going.

At Tights' invitation, Talot, Gine, and Salari entered the guest room of the large round house.

Tights instructed the servants to prepare some tea, sweets, and fruit for them. She then took Bulma upstairs to her room before going to inform her father, Brief.

Taking advantage of the moment, the three of them examined the furnishings and decorations of the room with appraising eyes.

Gine and Salari were full of curiosity, as they were still unfamiliar with many things on Earth.

Of course, they were even more curious about what Talot wanted to have made. But they didn't ask in detail for now.

The wait for Brief seemed to stretch on.

Until Bulma suddenly came trotting down the stairs, attracting their attention once again.

More specifically, it was the thing in her hands that drew their gaze.

Of course, only Talot cared more.

Because it was a Dragon Ball!!!

"Little sister, could I take a look at that bead you're holding?" Talot asked with a smile.

Bulma hesitated for a moment, glancing at the Dragon Ball in her hand, then at Talot.

She didn't dislike him, so she decided to be generous, holding out the Dragon Ball. "This is my toy. If you want it, big brother, I can give it to you, but you'll have to play with me."

Bulma's voice is very youthful and pleasant to listen to.

Talot took the Dragon Ball she handed over and examined it closely.

At this close distance, he could clearly see the two stars inside the ball.

No matter what angle he looked from, they remained perfect five-pointed stars.

Just as described in the original work—remarkably magical.

"Let's play, big brother," Five-year-old Bulma was straightforward, immediately tugging on Talot's hand, trying to lead him away.

Talot didn't mind. After all, this was Bulma. Forming a friendly relationship with her now would make things easier for him in the future.

However, what Talot didn't expect was for Salari to suddenly interrupt, pulling Bulma's hand away from Talot.

"Brother Talot doesn't want to play with you."

Her words carried a clear sense of hostility.

Salari didn't know why she felt so on edge, almost like someone was trying to take her Brother Talot away.

"Big brother didn't refuse! Who are you to say he doesn't want to play with me?!" Bulma shot back, defiant.

Her forceful demeanor already had the air of a strong, independent woman.

"I said no, so no," Salari didn't back down. The two of them clashed as soon as they met.

Sensing that things were getting out of hand, Talot immediately stepped in, grabbing Salari's hand to stop her from doing anything rash.

After all, compared to her, Bulma was just an ordinary little girl, and if Bulma angered Salari any further, she might really end up being killed by Salari.

Bulma was visibly upset, her cheeks puffed up in frustration like a child who didn't get what she wanted.

"Little sister, I apologize on behalf of Salari. She didn't mean to target you, and here's your Dragon Ball, you can have it back." Talot said as he comforted Bulma and returned the Dragon Ball to her.

Salari was clearly displeased, but after Talot gave her a look that said "don't make trouble," she calmed down.
