Chapter 35 - Stopover and Bardock's bloody battle

Talot showered Salari with so much praise that she was on cloud nine. There weren't many people that the little girl cared about; Talot was the only one she was closest to.

To put it more directly, Salari already saw Talot as her other half.

After chatting for a long time, Talot and Salari finally helped Gine prepare the food.

After the three of them had a hearty meal, Talot began to talk about exploring Planet Ouyun.

These past days, although the three of them had been wandering around the area, they had mostly stayed in the valley.

After all, they were also searching if there was another blood fruit tree.

Unfortunately, besides the one they found, they hadn't discovered a second one.

Maybe there's only one, or perhaps there are more on other continents.

Now that they were familiar with the nearby area within a few hundred miles, it was time to leave this primeval forest.

Even though they weren't here with the intention of invading, since they were already here, they couldn't just stay in this area. They also needed to see the world outside and learn more about the Ouyuns.

To be honest, Talot knew they wouldn't stay on this planet for a long time. Planet Ouyun was just a stopover from the start. After exploring it, Talot planned to go directly to Earth.

And the turning point is going to be the news of Planet Vegeta's explosion.

After a discussion, with Gine and Salari's agreement, Talot left a clone to protect the spaceship. Then, the three of them left the valley to explore further away.

...

Meanwhile, as the exploration of Planet Ouyun was underway, Talot and the others had no idea that a major change was happening on Planet Vegeta.

King Vegeta gathered almost all the elite upper-class warriors, preparing for a life-and-death battle against Frieza, who is about to arrive.

Frieza, on the other hand, was secretly gathering his army. During this time, he recalled all the Saiyans who were out invading other planets.

His aim was, of course, to eliminate the Saiyan race in one fell swoop.

Among them, the more powerful Saiyans were personally being taken care of by Frieza's trusted subordinates.

For example, those with outstanding power levels who were considered the backbone and fighting geniuses among the Saiyans.

...

In space, on a planet named Meat.

The entire planet was already in ruins, with everything on the surface leveled by a tremendous force.

Looking around as far as the eyes can see, there was nothing but endless ruins and smoke.

Beneath a pile of rubble in some ruins, a figure was trapped, their silent roar filled with helplessness.

That person was none other than Bardock!

Just a few minutes ago, he had a fierce battle with Frieza Force' top combat personnel.

Although he killed those guys, he was ultimately severely injured by the overwhelming power of Dodoria, who arrived on the scene.

Buried here, he narrowly escaped death.

But this also became his greatest agony.

Struggling painfully, his consciousness wavered intensely until his mind grew increasingly dazed, as if he had entered some sort of illusion.

In front of his eyes, he saw Talot, with Salari and Gine, arriving on Planet Ouyun and exploring it smoothly...

The scene shifted, and he saw his son, Raditz, fighting a bloody battle alongside Prince Vegeta's elite team...

Finally, he saw Kakarot's spaceship heading into the vast universe, and eventually, a blue planet appeared in sight...

...

Foreseeing the future, having a brief glimpse of future events.

This was the ability Bardock was temporarily granted after being struck by the Future Punch of a Kanassan, shortly after they had successfully conquered Planet Kanassa.

The Kanassan also used this opportunity to predict that the Saiyan race would be annihilated, just like his own people, without any power to resist!

"Talot... Kakarot... Raditz... and... Gine!!!" At this moment, Bardock's consciousness was suddenly jolted awake from the illusion.

An unknown power surged from his heavily injured body, allowing him to break free from the pile of rubble.

Not far from him were the bodies of his teammates.

Tora, Fasha, Borgos, Shugesh...

The comrades he once fought alongside had all been brutally killed by Frieza's men, and now he was the only one left alive.

"Damn Frieza!! We Saiyans fought for you, yet you treated us like insignificant ants to be toyed with!!" Unwilling to accept it, Bardock was furious over the death of his comrades.

He then dragged his severely injured body forward slowly, his blood-soaked face filled with sorrow and rage.

He had originally thought that even if the Kanassans knew something, the vision of the future was likely a falsehood.

Now he had no choice but to believe that what he saw might actually be true.

There was no other reason; all the ominous premonitions he had felt before were now coming true.

Not only had Frieza really made a move against them, but the next target was his people on Planet Vegeta.

"Fortunately, fortunately, I sent all of you away... From here on, leave it to me to handle. I will definitely make it happen, and besides, there's King Vegeta and the others!"

Bardock chose to believe in the future he had just seen.

He believed that Talot, Gine, Raditz, and Kakarot would be safe.

Walking slowly to his fallen comrades, Bardock endured the excruciating pain in his body and buried each of them one by one. Finally, the white cloth that had been stained red with blood was tied around his head.

"I will avenge you guys!"

After leaving these words, Bardock slowly made his way to his spaceship. He pressed a button, revealing a hidden compartment where special medicine and healing liquid were stored.

Fortunately, he had prepared these in advance for emergencies.

While these wouldn't fully heal him, they would at least allow him to recover 70 to 80 percent of his injuries.

Without hesitation, Bardock injected the healing liquid into his body and swallowed the special medicine.

As the medicine took effect, the pain throughout his body gradually subsided and disappeared, and he finally managed to steady his breath.

"Damn it!! I didn't expect Dodoria to be that strong, but next time he won't find it so easy! My current power level has increased significantly due to recovering from these severe injuries," Bardock muttered to himself.

He activated his scouter, and the numbers on it began to fluctuate.

10,000... 11,000... 12,000... 15,000... 18,000...

The pain of losing his comrades and the breakthrough at the brink of death had brought about this surge.

At this moment, Bardock's power level had reached nearly 20,000!

It felt like a final surge of energy, a burst of strength in the face of impending death.

Under normal circumstances, Bardock would be incredibly excited, as this power had already broken through the barrier that had been limiting the Saiyans.

"I wonder how King Vegeta's preparations are going. I need to get back to Planet Vegeta immediately."

He started the spaceship and closed his eyes to rest, conserving his energy.

At this time, he also had the urge to contact his wife and sons, and he wanted to reach out to Talot as well.

But he knew he couldn't do that.

Especially Talot; ever since the signal was cut off over a month ago, he had been worried for a long time, but now he actually felt it was a good thing, and it must have been that kid Talot's doing.
