Nan Xi was groggy; she seemed to hear what he was saying and yet not really hear it.
She only felt Lu Jianshen holding onto her hand all the time, continuously talking about something, his expression looking very anxious and worried.
"Cold, Lu Jianshen, I'm so cold..."
Lu Jianshen didn't think twice, immediately crawled under the covers, and took her into his arms.
"So cold."
Nan Xi kept saying this, shivering non-stop, trembling; her face and lips were white, without a trace of color.
Looking at her, Lu Jianshen felt an indescribable heartache.
"Xixi, don't be afraid, I'll be with you."
"You won't have anything happen."
Lu Jianshen held her very tightly, cheek pressed against Nan Xi's cheek, warming her.
After about ten minutes or so, Nan Xi finally stopped calling out that she was cold, and her body seemed a bit warmer.
Possibly worn out, Nan Xi closed her eyes, her long eyelashes curled up lightly, and she fell asleep gently.
