Chapter 31 - Biggest Shop in the Mortos City

Only after he couldn't see the two siblings and Little Lion anymore did James walk towards the biggest shop in this city to gather information about the price, etc.

After walking for a while in the direction that Ye Wudi had informed him of earlier while they were still on their way here, he could finally see the building that Ye Wudi was referring to, since it was much larger than others around it.

James walked directly into the building and was greeted by a young woman dressed in a white robe who appeared to be around 25 years old. "Young master, how can I help you? Are you looking for something, or do you want to sell your items here?

"Here, examine it. How much would I get for my sword if I sold it here?" James gave his peak rank 4 sword on his waist to the receptionist.

"Okay, follow me to meet someone who can inspect the sword for you and estimate its price." The receptionist could see at a glance that the sword was a high level treasure.

That's why she needed to call someone who could call the shots, as she was merely a low-level receptionist who didn't have enough authority and capability to handle such a valuable item.

She immediately led James to the second floor and knocked on one of the doors, "Sir, there is a high level item that needs to be inspected."

After around a half-minute of silence, a lazy voice came from inside the room, "Come in."

The receptionist opened the door and led James inside.

"What kind of item is it? Bring it to me quickly." An impatient voice came from a fat middle-aged man in his 40s who sat on the chair lazily.

The receptionist stepped forward and placed the sword on the table.

When the fat man saw it, his eyes lit up, and he immediately picked up the sword to inspect it.

"This fat bastard is so disgusting." Little Fluffy commented.

"Huh? What do you mean?" James was confused and asked him.

"Just scan the room, and you will know." Little Fluffy replied before disappearing.

James was still confused because he was already aware that there was a peak rank 5 elite martial warrior in here, but he didn't care as his purpose was merely to sell the item to know about the price, not to provoke or kill someone in the store.

However, he still scanned the room as Little Fluffy suggested and immediately knew the reason why.

Apparently this fat bastard was actually doing an indecent thing earlier, because when James scanned the room, he discovered a peak rank 2 woman hidden beneath the table.

If you know, you know.

James was not surprised because he knew a lot since he had a lot of experience in his first life.

Nonetheless, it was actually rather awkward for him to catch someone red-handed in this situation.

At the same time, the fat bastard was inspecting the blade slowly, even tried its effect by using his sword fire skill, as coincidentally his attribute was fire and he could test the sword properly.

The fat bastard also attempted testing its power and durability on a peak rank 4 material, as it leaves a cut on the material.

After a while, the fat bastard laughed happily.

"What an excellent sword. Would you like to sell it? I will give you a good deal. Although it's a peak rank 4 sword, its quality is comparable to that of a mid-rank 5 sword.

So I'll offer you the price of a mid rank 5 sword and even buy it for the same price, as we usually cut the price a little to make a profit, but I'm not going to lower the price because I truly like this sword. How is it? It's a win-win situation for both of us, isn't it?"

'win-win situation My ass, do you think I don't know shit about this? Do you think I'm an 18-year-old boy? Well, technically, yes. But, as my past life was as a businessman, I would be stupid to trust a salesman's word.' James cursed in his heart.

However, James actually didn't care much, since his main objective here was to know the information about the prices, etc.

After some thought, James replied, "Okay, I wanted to receive the payment with peak rank 4 beast cores."

"No problem." The fat bastard responded with a smile and waved his hand to instruct the receptionist to prepare the beast cores.

"Is there anything else I can do to help you? I could show you around, as we have a lot of treasure that you might be interested in." The fat bastard asked.

"Okay, just lead the way, as I might need something or sell something again."

The fat bastard eyes lit up when he heard that he could potentially make some money again and quickly led the way to the other side of the second floor, which displayed the treasures on the walls and visible table glasses.

"How much is it for an item like a breakthrough pill, martial technique, skill, or magic book? Also, I would like to buy a map." James asked the fat bastard as he looked around at the items on display.

The fat bastard was confused by James's question, since James asked about items that related to martial artists and magicians at the same time, despite the fact that these items had nothing in common.

However, he still explained the prices in detail to James patiently, and he gave him a map of the entire kingdom as a present.

After listening to the fat bastard's explanation, James understood the information that he needed to know except for two things: the cost of producing the pill and weapons from the system.

Because when James wanted to buy a few pill and weapon refining materials of peak rank 4 from the shop, the fat bastard told him that the shop currently doesn't have that, as in this city there aren't any alchemists or blacksmiths of that level.

So, if James wanted to buy these kinds of items, the shop needed to get the items from another branch in the other city, and he would have to wait for the items to arrive in this city, which could take a few days to a week.

Obviously, James didn't want to wait that long, so James decided to go to the bigger city to learn about the cost of producing pills and weapons and compare it to the system's prices.
