Chapter 14 - Decisions...

" Lock every exits to the castle, all guards should be alert, she couldn't have gone that far! She is a woman! A injured one!" The lead guard instructed as he walked through the hallway of the castle. Guards ran up and down in pursuit of a fugitive, Nira.

She had escaped from her chamber. Seems the guards responsible to keep her intact had failed. You won't blame them, even if you wanted to, you won't.

The castle was busy, guards running up and down and rooms scoured through. Welter was burning with fury in his chamber, eyes fixed outside the windows. There was a door knock and a woman walked in.

" They have found her?" He asked, still concentrating outside the window.

" No, your grace." She replied humbly.

" Tell them to stop looking for her, she will come to me herself!"

" You can tell them yourself!" The woman this time spoke confidently as she revealed her face. She walked to him and placed a sword on his spine.

" You are here!" Welter said, unmoved with the woman's action.

" Why did you bring me here, I thought we had an agreement?"

" Nira! No, you don't understand, I don't take it lightly when someone causes chaos in my home, my castle..."

" You think you won't die, this sword was made by your mother to kill you, I can if I want, right here, right now!

Welter's eyes were still glued outside the window. He seemed rather too calm, despite of Nira's presence and threat she had imposed on him. He cleared his throat then walked to a table, leaving Nira standing still. He had gotten from the hook she thought she had him in.

" Let me tell you a story!" He said as he took a glass from a tray and poured some liquid into it. He took a sip then turned to her,

" Oh, it still gets me!" He said smiling at her then took another sip. Nira felt as if she had frozen in the very spot she was in. Suddenly, her body felt weaker and her hands heavy and she let go of the sword and collapsed onto the ground. A constant noise flooded her ears and she lost control of her eyes. She fell unconscious. Welter sat on a chair as he took several sips from the glass until it was empty. The guards stormed into the room and carried Nira from the floor. They took her into a dark room and chained her such that her knees were on the ground.

Caleb woke up early. He took a piece of cloth from a hangline inside his house and wore it. He opened up the door and walked out of the house into the front yard. Two guards stood firm outside the door. Immediately he was on the move, they followed him.

He walked into the palace and through into the king's chambers. After a thorough frisking by the guards, he was let in.

" You are up early!" Arvin said as he continued taking sips of wine from his glass

" We had a deal, I strive to honor it!" Caleb said confidently as he stood uprightly before the king. Arvin nodded before smiling as he turned away from him

" You know, I never liked you, growing up! You were always around her, trying to be this charming poor kid. No doubt she liked you back..."

" I am not here for insults!"

" You are here upon my own Accord, you should thank me you are here defying me!" He said angrily as he faced him.

" I will forever be in your debt, you saved my life when everyone thought I was to die, but..."

" There is no but! You know I could kill you here and now and this time, you won't be so lucky!" Arvin said as his eyes darkened with fury. He was so angry that he took out a dagger and placed it on his throat. He threw the glass against the wall and it shoot into mini pieces.

Caleb breathed heavily. His heart was racing as was anger. He was growing tired of his insults. At times he wished he had just died peacefully, but that would have meant he would not be able to be with Nira, at least he hoped his second life would bring more success in their relationship, may be, Arvin was right all along. He really wished to bed Nira, his feelings for her were not going anywhere, in as much as he was so mad at her.

Arvin let go of him and threw the dagger across the room onto a table. He walked to the table and picked up another glass. He poured a little more wine and took a deep sip from it.

" I am sending men to Merria, spies. I want you to go with them." He said calmly and took another sip, this time emptying the glass. Caleb stood still as he watched him enjoy every gulp he took.

" What is of me in Merria?" Caleb asked him after a while.

" Silion and Josh!" He said as he smiled back at him.

Caleb nodded at him then started walking towards the door. Before he walked out, Arvin called him, " Do not engage them, they don't know of you!"

" I won't!" He said as he turned to him. " What else?"

" I need you to go to Nira, in your dreams. Of course, when you have time!" He said calmly as he sat on the bed.

" I will then!" He said as he walked out of the room.

Josh stared deep into Silion's eyes. She stared back at him. It was a bit dark in the opening of dawn but they could feel each other's eyes. They both breathed heavily. Silion climbed on him and kissed him softly. His hands raced deeper on her lower back. They continued passionately, kissing and whispering into each other's ear. Silion stopped and sat on him then took her top off. She continued kissing him for a while. Josh's hands were already invading her inner thighs and through her juicy pot. "Uh!" She let go of a soft moan as hormones electrified her nerves. She started kissing him passionately on his neck. Before their morning grew more interesting, the door opened furiously as two guards stormed in.

Like clockwork, Josh and Silion grabbed their weapons as they jumped over from the bed. The guards held their swords ready to send them to the after life.

" You could simply come with us or we could kill you!" One guard threatened.

" I would love some fight!" Silion said, her breasts still exposed. She seemed to be okay with them free and bouncing and in presence of the men. Many times, Nira had taught her to use distractions in case she was in a plight.

Josh was the first to attack, with double swords. He singled out a guard putting in all the efforts and training he had acquired in his lifetime. He was still hard from the little activity he had engaged in with Silion. The sound of metal against metal echoed in the room. The other guard was between perplexed and aroused. Silion's breasts were distracting him, she knew it and she used them to her advantage.

She threw her sword to him and the guard hit it aside using his own but before he advanced to her, Silion had kicked him between the legs and he screamed. In one swift move she managed to get him on his knees. She took out a dagger and dug it deep into his neck.

Josh was still enduring the intensity of the other guard. The man swung his sword intensely as Josh struggled to block his attacks. He was the strongest of the guards and clearly the most experienced. Silion wore her top then joined Josh against the beast of a man. The man could still hold the two of them, sending them onto the floor severally and forcing them miss his sword closely.

They were growing exhausted and sore. It got to a point the man had disarmed the both of them. The man looked deep into the eyes of Josh and was about to dig the sword deep into his flesh when Silion plunged her sword on his spine. The man shouted in pain and the neighbors finally got alerted. They stormed into the hut. When they did, Silion and Josh had fled, two guards cold on their own blood.

***

Water splashed hard on her face forcing her out of her induced sleep. She had been chained and only had authority over her legs. She trembled. The water was cold so was the room. Welter sat at one corner of the room as the guards tortured her for a while. He then directed them to stop. He got from his seat and slit their throats and they collapsed lifeless onto the ground. He hated disrespect and from his instructions, he did not mention anything to do with torture.

He unchained her and she fell onto the ground. She groaned in pain as she lay on her stomach, vulnerable. He squatted and stared at her.

" You might as well kill me, I'd appreciate that!" She cried

" No, I won't! You are too valuable to die!" He said as he stroked her hair gently. It had grown only as long as to her lower ear lobe. It was black but not as clean. Her face was covered with dirt and blood. She struggled to get hold of her breath.

" Decisions, what rings your mind when you hear the word?" He asked, still stroking her hair. She lay silently. He could have taken offence but he did not anyway. The men's blood was flowing towards them, forcing him up. He instructed another guard to carry her up to another side of the room.

" Before you blacked out, I wanted to tell you a story, allow me to finish it!" He stated his intention as he sat on the floor beside her.

" Years I have lived in this world, not once have I failed to be in a compromising position that forced my hand to make at least a decision, or several!' he said calmly. She had struggled to a sitting position.

" I made a decision! I have made more sane than you!" She spat at him

" Oh, I am sure you have. That day you first stepped inside these walls, you were an almighty force, commanding everything around you, so much has changed!"

" Where are you going with this?"

" You could have allowed yourself inside your sister's soul, you would have been stronger!"

" I would have killed her!"

" Yes, you would have!"

" I care for her more than I do for myself!"

" Of course you do!" He said smiling to himself. He showed her extreme patience making her restless. She began doubting herself. He was driving her insane and she hated it. She stared at him with effort to torment him but seems her gifts were unable to at the moment.

" Please stop!" she cried.
