Silion struggled to regain vision. Her eyes felt heavier, probably exhaustion from the long slumber she had just engaged in after the attack. Her wound was neat and her face, well her face was hers, no one had time to maintain it for her. For starters, they were fugitives, worse, Nira did not care about her face.
When she could get hold of her eyes, she got into a sitting position. It was dark, so dark that for a moment she thought she had gone blind. She turned her head where she met the cold stare of Nira. Nira was sat by the fire, across Josh and Caleb who were skinning a hunt they caught, preparing for a meal.
" Look who is up!" Nira teased.
Josh and Caleb bursted into a laughter that kind of felt awkward and forced. For a moment silence prevailed among them. Silion managed to stand. She slowly walked towards Nira and after a short pause to stare at the two gentlemen, she retired to the ground next to Nira.
" Why are we here, who are they?"
" You know them, we are on the run, as you can see!"
It was then that Silion had her memory recall the incident that had them under attack and all the ugly ones before the night. She tried to cry but she couldn't. Her heart was melting not with joy, but with pain, agony, anger and vengeance.
She would have sworn that she would kill all the responsible culprits but first things first, she was to at least survive.
" Robin's body?"
" It was not in the court"
" Where was it?"
" Not in the court!" Caleb stressed as Nira smiled to him, coldly but with a tone of appreciation. Only him could get Nira to smile that easy, no one else, not even the best comedians in the planet.
" This is our fate now!" Silion cried
" Not mine, we don't give up. We have to find Arvin first!" Nira urged as she got up and walked a small distance away from the fire. She was only eleven when all this events came knocking on their door.
Nira was one of a kind. Though very young, she had her own capabilities. At a certain time she had all members of her family on their knees for making her feel like a freak.
It was a cold night in the capital. Heavy winds were blowing rapidly through the streets . The royal family had gathered for a meal at the family hall in the palace. The guards stood firm at every entrance of the hall. The servants were on their toes, any incompetence could graduate one off their duties.
Nira was the last to the table. As she occupied her seat, everyone suddenly shut. She stared at them for a while before serving her meal preferences. It was the duty of the royal servants to serve but Nira preferred serving on her own, at times cook for herself.
This sudden silence had troubled her, something that was becoming a regular for her family whenever she was at their presence. Since she was born, no one in her family had maintained eye contact with her for more than a blink of an eye. She was always referred to the wild, her reputation in the kingdom grew as the girl who frightens the king, the wildest of the beasts.
Most of the time she would be in her room, reading about dark magic, war and historical and political books. At times, she would be at the soldiers camp using her princess card in order to be trained as a warrior would. At first the soldiers would be shy to challenge her, then they got used to her and would treat her as any other person with an ambition to be a warrior.
That night as she served her food neatly into her plate, Robin decided to break the deafening silence, he was one to light up the mood. Silion would engage him then the rest would follow. At times Nira would abandon the table and carry her food to her room. This time, Robin's hook hit the rock. Silion was trying to concentrate on her meal so she made no response. Arvin would then proceed to laugh at Robin for failing to bring up a chat at the time.
Nira would be the unlikely to comment," Arvin, you behave like a kid!"
" You behave like a monster!" Arvin retaliated
She just faked a smile and went on feasting on her meal, silently. The king would then support Arvin's statement, pleas of his wife falling on deaf ears.
" He is not lying, you are a Lady, daughter of the king, you should behave like one" he directed.
It was then that she thought she had to make things straight. She was by then ten years of age. She stood up and stared at each and everyone of them, even the innocent eyes of Robin and the unusually silent Silion.
" I can read through all of you. Since you have decided that I am a monster, then I should be caged or worse, I should be exiled before I start biting!" She uttered then gave a mocking roar before getting on the table and crawled like a four legged creature towards the king.
He would be the first to kneel then the rest would follow soot. She made an evil laugh, just like the witches in movies or rather villains before she would storm out of the palace, unguarded.

" I don't have any sweet memories of you. We were not even close, thought you hated me yet you have saved my life more than once" Silion whispered to Nira as she walked closer and closer to her. Nira, remained firm to the ground, acting as if she did not hear anything her sister said.
They were apparently the last of the Beasts, alive but on the run. May be their brother Arvin was also alive, but many would hope the opposite was true and that he went down with the king, his father. Silion knew this and was trying to make amends. Why not? She was the only one with her blood that she could see or touch...um, mostly see, touch not quite!
" I want us to start again, on a clean slate. I will teach you about love, not platonic , but love. We will help raise each other, then come for revenge when we are ready to. You have your power, I have wisdom..."
" And beauty!" Nira cut her shot as they shared a giggle.
" Are you ready to become a wild beast?" She added.
Silion stood silently just a few centimeters from Nira as she processed the statement before agreeing with her sister in a way too naive.
" Nice, it is us against the world. Father was too soft for a beast, he lost his power which was majored on fear. Now we go hard like wild beasts!" She turned to her sister and for the first time hugged her. It seemed it was time to untame the wild beast, it was time.
