Kelly’s POV
I kept my straight face as I ran towards my car. I was about to get inside when someone grabbed my elbow. Pierce carefully turned me around so I could face him. He’s panting. He looked worried, pained and…terrified.
“Kelly, it’s not what you think—”
“I’m sorry,” I paused and swallowed hard. “I-I didn’t mean to barge in. I just…”
“Kelly, listen to me. Lexi and I…we’re nothing. We broke up years ago. I don’t love her anymore—”
“We broke up years ago too…” I whispered painfully.
His grip on my elbow loosened as he stared at my face. “I-I want us…to try again.”
“I guess this is not the right time—”
“I can’t wait for the right time, Kelly. I didn’t kiss Lexi. She just grabbed me and kissed me. I didn’t even expect her to show up again after five years. She just barged in my office and did that. Please, believe me…”
