"Departure will be done one week after enrollment closes. For now, you can stay in this small dorm while you wait," explained the officer in the navy blue mixed-with-white uniform.
Morgan nodded as he thanked the officer for dropping him off. Not only that, the officer also handed Morgan a file containing important information about the Monarch Academy of Magic.
"For more information, you can read the file. You have to prepare for the first exam to join the academy," added the officer.
'Exam? So, they're still selecting people to join the academy, huh?" Morgan asked inwardly.
"Is the information about the exam also saved in this file?" asked Morgan. The officer before him nodded, clearing his throat as he smiled broadly.
"Alright. Thank you," smiled Morgan.
The officer waltzed away from the place back to the talent screening building. Cillian walked over to the small dorm that Morgan would be staying in for a while.
"Are you nervous?" Cillian asked.
"Of course not. Why would I be nervous with my current powers?" asked Morgan. Cillian laughed softly as his arms folded before his chest.
"That's good. I believe you'll be able to overcome all your problems here," Cillian replied.
"I can't stay here for long. The people at Trident need me," Cillian said as he bid Morgan farewell.
Morgan understood Cillian's responsibility and didn't insist on keeping the middle-aged man near him. After what Cillian wanted to say was spoken, the man walked away, leaving Morgan alone in front of the small dorm door.
"So, is he your father?" someone asked from behind Morgan, startling him.
There was a young man standing at the door with two others accompanying him. He seemed to be staring at Morgan with an arrogant attitude, as if he was in charge of the dorms.
Morgan returned his gaze with a sharp and powerful one, not only to the young man but also to his two friends. The young man grinned, sensing Morgan was challenging him.
"He's my uncle. Who are you?" Morgan asked.
"I don't care who he is, but you live in this dorm now. The written rule in this place is that the student with the highest mark is in charge," explained the young man.
"I don't intend to be the ruler of the dorms," Morgan retorted, stepping inside as he pulled his suitcase.
Unfortunately, Morgan's steps were halted when the young man and his two friends did not allow Morgan to pass. Morgan sighed; a feeling of anger had grown in his heart at the behavior of the three young men before him.
"What's wrong? Do you need anything from me?" asked Morgan sarcastically.
"Before entering, you must bow your head to the three of us; think of it as a form of respect to the ruler of this dorm," replied the young man, patting his own chest proudly, the two friends beside him laughing happily to justify their leader's attitude.
"It's not written in the academy rules that I have to bow to anything other than instructors, department heads, and the academy head. Why should I respect you, then?" asked Morgan, irritated.
"You!" snapped the young man, tugging at Morgan's collar until the tension was created outside the dorms.
The loud words attracted much attention from the other students inside the dorms. They peeked through the windows of their rooms, wondering who the student who dared to get into trouble with Jared was.
"Looks like I'll have to beat you to make you respect me!" insisted Jared, the ruler of the small dormitory.
'His hand strength is strong enough, but it's no match for me,' Morgan explained to himself.
Morgan looked to his right and left, looking closely at Jared's two friends, who seemed to be preparing with their magic circles. This little fight would be unfair, three against one.
"Then show me, maybe your crappy fists can change my mind!" threatened Morgan, accepting Jared's challenge.
Morgan's hand quickly shot forward and punched Jared in the chest with his palm. A gentle gust of wind appeared, causing Jared to push away and release his grip on Morgan's clothes.
"Jared."
"Are you okay?"
Jared's two friends asked, Morgan jumping away while dropping his suitcase. Jared's face turned red, then yelled out loud, realizing he'd been hit with an attack he could have blocked.
"You'll never get away from me, damn it!" snapped Jared, dashing to get closer to Morgan.
Jared's two friends followed close behind. They released wind and earth elemental magic aimed at Morgan's body, a low-level spell.
Morgan, who was familiar with high-level magic attacks, could avoid the two-element magic attacks of Jared's two friends. However, Morgan could not cast high-level spells with the power barrier ring.
[Low Magic: Windstorm]
He stepped forward with both hands extended to the right and left. Magic circles were created on two palms in different directions, startling them all.
"Two-way magic?" asked Jared, widening his eyes.
Unable to dodge, Jared's two friends' bodies were pushed away by the wind, forming a triangular vortex, which was not so big but capable of knocking down-stage novices like them.
"Damn you!" shouted Jared as he stretched both hands straight ahead, bringing up a magic circle.
[Mid Magic: Fire Arrows]
Dozens of fire arrows emerged from Jared's magic circle and aimed at Morgan. Morgan dodged and sprinted within the circle because he knew Jared couldn't use magic in two different directions.
"You're shooting at the wrong place. Wait until your mana runs out. I'll beat you with my hands!" threatened Morgan.
"Don't underestimate me!" snapped Jared.
[Mid Magic: Area of Scorching Fire]
Jared changed his attack form to an area attack. Right under Morgan's feet, he could see the ground turning red and spawning a small flame that could dehydrate someone if fully affected.
'This magic follows the enemy, but it's not a guarantee that the magic user can't be affected as well,' Morgan revealed.
Morgan smiled a bit, changing his running direction from circular to forward. Occasionally, he avoided the circle of scorching fire by running in a zigzag pattern.
Realizing Morgan was running toward him made Jared shout and focus his magic on the area near him. Morgan's eyes were transfixed by Jared's body movement, then he jumped high and landed right behind Jared's body.
"What are you—"
"You're done!" interrupted Morgan, pointing a palm with an activated magic circle right before Jared's face as he turned around.
Jared's face looked pale, terrified, with shaking legs and arms. He also deactivated all his fire magic because Morgan threatened him.
"Jared!" called one of his friends, about to approach.
"Don't go closer, or he'll be hurt badly," Morgan ordered, causing Jared's two friends to freeze in their steps.
"Tch!"
"Alright. You're the dorm master now!" said Jared, deciding to give up and let Morgan rule the dorm.
"Eh? I didn't fight for the dorm title," said Morgan, shocked.
[You'd better read the file from the officer.]
'Huh? What does the dorm ruler have to do with the file?" asked Morgan silently.
He started to turn off the magic circle and took the file from the storage magic bracelet. Morgan opened the file and saw in the exam section of the student candidates that there were three exams; the second one was an additional exam, whether he could take it or not.
But one thing was certain: the first test was a group test. They would be placed in the forest south of Unst and instructed to hunt for plate pieces. Plate pieces can be found in caves, killing monsters or capturing them from other groups.
'What? Every group member must be a member of the same dorm?' asked Morgan.
Also, the dorm with a more than 50% group success rate would receive an additional prize from the academy. Morgan nodded, understanding why Morgana had told him to read the file.
"Alright. I will accept the title from you!" declared Morgan, returning the file to the magic storage bracelet.
"We will resign. We can't continue living in the same dorm with the people we've used in the past," explained Jared, defeated.
"Eitts! Wait a second," said Morgan, stopping Jared.
"What?" asked Jared.
"I think I know how you pay for your mistakes!"
