Chapter 113 - First Wave

Erik and Mia followed Valeria down the long corridor. The cold stone walls seemed to press in on them, adding to their anxiety, but they kept their emotions tightly controlled. The sound of the machine outside still echoed faintly through the fortress as a reminder of the threat is just right there.When they reached the end of the hallway Valeria stopped in front of a large iron door. She pushed it open and stepped inside. Erik and Mia followed, their eyes immediately taking in the sight of the forge.The room was large and filled with the intense heat of molten metal. Runes pulsed along the walls and the uncompleted equipments scattered around. At the center of the forge stood Vekkir, his figure illuminated by the glow of the furnace behind him.On the stone table in front of him were two pairs of carved bracers. On the bracers there are runes etched into them that glowed faintly.
